Hi folks
for a camp, I'm currently talking with the people from Campingsite Grubhof. It's located directly at the banks of Saalach river, and a reasonably beautiful site. (For information, look: http://www.almdorf.at/ )
They cost from 5 to 15 Euro per night/person, cars additional fee, they have group rooms and cabins for us. Further, they can provide a drying room for wet paddling gear.
It's just that the whole group might not fit in the group sleeping places, so some might have to take a more expensive option. But as far as I can tell, it's the cheapest option. James asked for a hotel, but the wanted 25 Euro per night and person (and hey, we have students among us  )
Probably, they will ask for a soon reservation. In this case I would do a reservation for 10 or 15 people - depending how many cboaters can say for sure that they will come to the armada. Those who come over this number will probably have to look for a further sleep place, but I don't think this is gonna be a big deal. Please tell me wether you already know (I'll send an email next week concerning this subject). If I announce 20 people and only 15 come, they might not be pleased...that's why I'm asking.
So, is everyone ok with me getting us some places at this campingsite?
Yours
Sabrina

If I can park my car there, I can also sleep in my car -if I take my bed-. and by preference setup my car-tent as well.
I'm still waiting some calendars to appear, but It is highly probable that I will join the armada 2008. When I have the calendars, I can make up my planning and give a definitive answer. Never mind if I don't fit in the accomodation, then I just sleep in my car. _________________ http://www.open-canoe.eu |

This place looks good to me. I'd say, go for it, insolence.
I think we should use and ask for all the possibilities: tent spaces, car (campervan) parking, huts...
I will come with my van and sleep in it, so I don't need a bunk in the huts. Count me in! _________________ "A canoe trip?" he said. "There ain't nothing to go down there for."

Hi folks
then we have our camp: Camping Grubhof!!!!
there's the latest news: they have 11 places in cabins available (8 places for 13 Euro per night and person, 3 for 10 to 13 13 Euro per night and person.
They have space for cars and tents..........
only one problem there is: Thy want to have the reservation soon, since there is a national slalom race at the same time........
some announced they could sleep in their cars or in a tent (we can use the group room for gathering in the evening, and there is a drying room for wt clothes, so the cold shouldn't be a problem even for the tent-sleepers)...........
let's see, is there anyone who definetly needs a cabin place at all?
I'm thinking wether I should do a reservation for the cabins at all
C you

Hi European cboaters
Only 2months to go before the Armada, yippee! There is plenty of snow waiting up in the mountains to melt and I am sure we will be in for a good weekend.
We will have demo canoes from Esquif, thanks Patschifik and demo paddles from Kober, and a big yummy dinner and a DVD/photo show on Saturday evening for everybody to enjoy.
Of course there will be lots a paddling opportunities on the various rivers in the Salzberger Alps and the chance ot hook up with some old friends and make some new ones.
Stay safe
