That stern looks HUGE!
It would definitely be interesting to see how you're gonna fit one of your saddles in there, with no foam pillow back and forth...
(Thinking out loud) now that could be handy for throwing a huge dry bag in the bow or stern and accessing your stuff in there easily...

I look forward to your review after paddling it. I know I liked the H3:255, after your recommendation, but would like more volume.
Prijon plastic is the best from what I have seen. My buddy has beat the crap out of his Herc, things I would never do to the bottom and it still looks great.
Their older boat designs not so sure about, but this looks much nicer.

I thought this boat would be a challenge to fit my saddle into, since my saddle is designed for boats with pillars and this thing has none. Turned out to be really simple..cuz there's no pillars..duh!
The front end is bolted to the bulkhead bolts. I do want to build a front pillar similar to the pyranha pillar just to make the boat easier to carry, but I don't think it's needed structurally.
The back end of the saddle just has a piece of foam fitted to the cockpit to keep it from moving up and down. It's essentially a foam pillar. The saddle doesn't move side to side because the front bolts hold it. I might want to make something to spread the load here but i don't know if it's really needed.
My scientific testing (jumping up and down on the upside down hull) showed that the hull has more support now than it did with the kayak seat in there.
The boat's 4 pounds lighter now.
Challenges:
This boat comes with a crazy bulkhead system, so the bolt location is very different than all other boats. So I had to fab a plate to reach the bolts.
I had to spend quite some time getting the top thigh strap anchors/ hip pads to work. Compared to the Burn, the cockpit is pretty lowand a little wider, and the strap was putting too much force on the hip pad bracket. I ended up attaching the straps to the hull first, and then the hip pads seperatately, so the strap is between the hip pad bracket and the hull.
All in all it took quite a while, probably 4 hours to set up.
And (and i'm probably going to get kicked off of team original formula for this) I only consumed a couple of scraps of foam.
Loving the saddle. This is the third boat I've had to set up with it in the last five months. Every one has been a breeze, and felt perfect from the get-go.

Why Such a Large Volume Boat?
Hello Larry,
What was your rationale for going with such a large volume boat ? This would be my inclination also but I want to see if we share the same reasons.
P.S. The outfitting is very clean and professional looking.

1. I didn't think too much about the volume. I like big boats, but I think stated volumes don't really mean all that much. The large burn and h3'255 have the same volume, but the h3 feels like it has a lot less.
2. I wasn't all that interseted in the boat untill i saw one in person and looked close at all the angles.. Then I was hooked.
3. With the new boat hype and lack of supply, I figured it would be easy to sell if i didn't like it.
Hope you got all your homesteading done so you can boat this year!
