Description: "Pig boat" from around 1982/83
User Comment: A plastic C2, often known as a "pig boat" due to it's sluggish nature and barge-like characteristics (not really fair to the pigs). It IS a great boat to introduce people to the sport in, though, due to its stability. From Russell Bailey: Our beloved "pig" boat. This picture is actually of boat #1 around 1990 at Soc'Em Dog with my brother Reid in front. We broke this boat a couple of years later and got a new yellow hull from Hydra. We've also paddled the Upper Gauley multiple times and some relatively steep creeks with it (Short Creek in Alabama). I have a hardcopy picture of us going over Short Creek Falls (20') in the yellow one. The boat does phenomenal enders if you can find a hole big enough, like a C2 version of the Gyramax. Hell Hole on the Ocoee is really not strong enough, but Slice&Dice is, though it is spooky being 10' out of the water with the eddy rock so close by. The Gauley has several good places to ender it also. At our best we could hands roll it consistently, but that was a few years ago now. I'll agree, the boat is no hot rod. But it is a lot of fun, and with an advanced team you can easily go places that would cause similar open boats difficulty.
