Description:
From the manufacturer - "Designed to compete in the Open Canoe Solo Combined Whitewater Class the Dragonfly has a unique blend of downriver and slalom capabilities. Since its inception the Combined Class has been considered the most viable testing ground in the search for "the all-around whitewater canoe". The Dragonfly was one of the top competitors at the 1984 A.C.A. Nationals. The design characteristics which make it a Combined Class competitor also make the Dragonfly a superb river touring and wilderness tripping canoe. Narrow water line and dramatically new above water shape give surprising seaworthiness, stability and firmness when leaned to carve turns. Good downriver speed allows the Dragonfly to compete with whitewater racing canoes in the 16-16 1/2 foot range. A totally new design that presents state-of-the-art whitewater construction and allows maximum whitewater performance capabilities.
Standard fiberglass and Kevlar layups feature heavy duty hull laminates and trim system (1" outwales). LiteTech Kevlar is a special lightweight competition version featuring a standard hull layup and combination Sitka spruce, Ash and ethafoam gunwale system. LiteTech version is available as a trimmed hull with no seat or floatation to allow custom rigging or in several stages of competition preparation. "
