Have a great weekend everyone.

Strainer at Palmer
Hi Doug,
I have a group there camping watching over it. Tomorrow if we don't get it out we will tape it all off, both sides and across the top if we can.
Our goal is to get it out before the weekend, for sure.

Mine has been fine. Are the ones that have broken, opened or decked?

Esquif L'Edge Rapid Mag Video Review
Hi Guys, In the most recent issue of Rapid I reviewed the L'Edge. We also put together a video review that is embedded in the digital issue and iPad app, but you can watch it here, http://www.rapidmag.com/videos/1473-neil-wright/video/55-Esquif+Ledge+Rapidmag+Digital+Extra.html For the record, I lov...

Cool
That's pretty cool. I hope she's inspired. It's a great river.
We did the Dumoine as a family this past summer 6 days, 5 nights. Tons of class II rapids. Both Doug (6) and Kate (4) loved it.
Anyway, maybe see you at the show.

Reel Paddling Film Festival Premiere Tomorrow Night in TO
I'm emceeing the Reel Paddling Film Festival premiere tomorrow night in Toronto at the Bloor Cinema. Let's pack this old theatre with c-boaters. We're leaving Palmer Rapids early so as to miss any weather or traffic. Maybe doing dinner somewhere before the show. I'll Tweet (http://twitter.com/rapidm...

Palmer Fest/Canadian Canoe Symposium, no more
Good Morning, I need to share some bad news. Rapid Media is no longer going to be producing Palmer Fest and consequently the Canadian Canoe Symposium. After five amazing years we're shutting it down. It was not an easy decision, in fact it was the most difficult business decision I've ever had to ma...

Hi Guys,
Down here for the Green Race and did some shooting for Rapid Media TV.
Here's the link,

Today we're in Charlotte to paddle at the whitewater park. I have a new undecked L'edge with me. Should be fun. Will post some photos.

Do you back ferry?
We were talking in the office today. How much back ferrying do you do in solo and c1? I' m not asking for paddling advice, more curious how commonly it is used in smaller boats.

Don't bother.
There are so many other great boats. Leave this a kayak. Trust me. I did one the year the boat came out.

Sources?
Any goofy sources, like Red Cross books or old camp methods that are just silly by today's standards?

How to size a paddle? Research project.
I'm doing a little research for an article. I'm looking into all the ways (traditional and modern) we tell folks how to size up a canoe paddle. I certainly know what I like, but I don't have a simple answer for my brother who paddles once a year. He then asks why I have one of every inch length from...

Dumoine Trip Photos - Kids, whitewater, beauty river
I just had the best week on the Dumoine River with my family and Canoeroots and Rapid contributor Brian Shields. I can't believe it took me so long to do this river. My new favourite river. We did six days from Benoit to Driftwood Provincial Park on the Ontario side of the Ottawa. Trailhead ran our ...

Palmer Fest: Photos, By the Numbers Blog, and a BIG Thanks
Hi Everyone, Just a big thanks to participants, instructors, exhibitors, my staff, and our hosts, the Paddler Co-op. From my perspective and those who've commented, it was by far the best Palmer Fest and Single Blade Symposium ever—nice weather and no bugs sure helped. Here are a bunch of links abou...
