I've seen a few boats converted by him and the guy is simply awesome. He even has some glue developed especially for him that sticks to plastic a whole lot better than the average stuff you can get at DIY stores. As far as I know he does convert selected boats because he has access to the hulls rela...

my first wobblies..
Hi all, Yup, the newbie has finally really been paddling (if you can call it that... ;) ) a C-1! At yesterdays' pool session I got a chance to try my instructor's C-1 (a Wavesport transformer T1, with a Perception C-1 seat) and I can safely say that I haven't been as wobbly in a boat for ages! Boy, ...

I've thought about a similar idea from time to time. One idea I've had is getting a bunch of c-boaters together to design a C-1, shape it, prototype it, and get a mold made and have it rotomolded for us. Think of it as a C-boat Co-op. Another option might be to get together with a few paddlers, des...

I like it a lot! :D Granted, coming form a freestyle kayak background I liked the idea of an open canoe sized like a modern playboat. I even thought about building one based my Flirt but then again, I'm good at fixing boats but have never built one. Awesome and I think there will be a few people int...

Markus Maas, a German guy and very good C-1 paddler, has a company where he sells converted kayaks. He also has developed a C-1 seat that is available separately. I guess this is another way to go, sort of in between getting a boat designed as C-1 and convert-it-yourself of a kayak. The boats you ge...

So, Larry, if you're happy with conversions, that's fine, but I don't see any reason to paddle ANY kayak converted to c-1 that I would not choose to paddle as a kayak. That pretty much closes the field for me. One very good reason might be if you're 6'4" like me it is pretty hard to find a short fr...

Hi all, @PAC: I already have a copy of the Squirt Book. I found it really inspiring and a lot of fun to read. Tha's what triggered my interest in squirt boating in the first place. One of the main reasons I wanted to see whether it would be a good idea (or not at all) to convert the squirt kayak to ...

Hi, Thanks, so I guess it would be best to stick to my playboat (a Fluid Flirt I'm going to convert to C-1) at first then? Luckily I can have some instruction in a pool from an experienced C-1 playboater from next week on and he agreed to help me outfit the boat first (which means this week :D ) Too...

C1 squirt boat question
Hi all, I'm a newbie here so I'll introduce myself: My name is Michiel Verhoef, age 36 and I've been paddling for the past 23 years or so. Mostly kayak polo and the occaisional white water. Since I retired from playing polo nearly every weekend I sort of switched to some kayaksurfing and a bit of fr...

Have you checked the playak video sections? There are a few videos available on C-1 playboating (including offside cartwheeling): http://playak.com/videos.php?fol=Technique

Jamie Burbeck (a well known British C1/OC1 paddler) has some pages on how he converted a Sub 7 into a C-1:
