Great to see her having so much fun in a boat :D BTW: I noticed your images are not protected. My wife is very active on flickr too (she's a hobby photographer) and she told me that there are people ripping off other people's photo's and posting them as their own. To prevent that it is possible to a...

Hi Isaac, If you do go to Zoetermeer, make sure you let me know. The least I can do is hook you up with Rein Hagenaars, a very good/friendly and enthousiastic c-boater who lives in the area. He's also involved in a lot of stuff going on at the slalom course so he can tell you all you need to know or...

it depemnds what kind of rush you are in. you could try to see what boats will be for sale next year at the olympic trials at zoertermeer, or check the dutch open next october. that would be your best bet. both of those races will have a diverse group of athletes, and often there are boats for sale...

@Martin: I'm afraid C1 slalom (or C1 paddling in general) never really existed overhere (Holland). Currently our Canoe/Kayak federation is trying to get more people in to C1/C2 slalom paddling but there are next to no (affordable) boats for beginners. Too bad the hulls are so different as I was just...

diffenrences between k1 and c1 slalom hulls?
Hi all, As slalom C1's are very hard to get here (unless bought new but 1600+ euros is not a nice price for getting started in slalom C1) I was wondering how much (if at all) the hulls for a k1 differ from a c1? Because it is possible to buy a used slalom k1 overhere for under $100 and with a bit of...

Well, for starters, this is a C-boat forum, about canoeing (canoes are also known as c-boats). Not a C as in the programming language forum ;) I won't mind diving into my old study books to find an answer for you although my C programming days are a long time ago :D BTW: based upon the names of the ...

Thank's Tom for your help! I have one question what is peel ply? Darrick Peel ply is a plastic foil you put on top of newly applied resin (polyester or epoxy) so it hardens out smoother and you get nice smooth transitions of the patch and the boat. If you can't buy peel ply try thick plastic (witho...

Being Dutch I have no experience with USACK but most of the comments here apply to the Dutch National Canoe/Kayak Union (NKB) as well, unfortunately. Somehow the Brits (BCU), French (FFCK) and Germans (DKV) seem to do a lot better. The funny thing is, in those countries paddling is regarded as a rea...

ahhhh yes of course, haha. but what are some suggestions for a backbone? i'm looking for something lightweight and easy to come by. any suggestions? A piece of a broken paddle shaft is great: it's light, strong and easy to obtain. Just ask a double blader who has snapped his/her paddle for the left...

A friend of mine has a Delerious as a C-1 and it's a great boat. Too bad he works for a kayakcompany that sells Wavesport and Fluid so he is not allowed to paddle any other brands in competitions and generally in public. He can't take it out much but when he does it's fun (he does have a Transformer...

Hi Liskahon,
Great site! It has already been noticed before (http://www.cboats.net/cforum/viewtopic.php?t=6074) but it can't help to post links every now and then (especially if there's news)
Cheers,
Michiel

If you need a custom skirt in Europe, go and talk to the folks at Nookie. They do a lot of different types of sprayskirts and I think they do custom ones too. The owner is Bill Mattos, a well known kayaksurfer/squirter/freestyler. He is a laid back kinda guy who even helps you out with gear that's o...
