hey Collin....I nominate you as Canadian chef d'equipe! Not sure if I am qualified for that job ... but I guess I could try pending no life altering changes next february-ish. LOL ... its not like people don't know who I am. It was hard enough being the photo geek, staying upright at the sam...

Things I learned at ALF
1. Canadian boaters out numbered US boaters. 2. "y'all" actually refers when your are talking to only one person. "all 'y'all" is when you are talking to more than one person. Dan. was corrected on this and told us about it. 3. The words Louiefest and organized are mutually exclusive. 4. Southern ho...

I would agree with OpenGate that Gatfest is very frickin busy and play time is very limited due to the number of boats. But it is a great place to meet other boaters/friends. I personally started meeting other open boaters by volunteering at the Gull River Slalom race. I was the hold the boat start ...

I would say not
Those names do not look familiar at all. Might be a different section of the river. This is what is on the section that we paddle during the festival. It is the Maniwaki / Bouchette section. Superb 8 km section, mostly class III - IV, those rapids...

i think people would pay money to see me in a creek boat
at least in the Canadian paddling contingent.
Go from a 14 footer to paddling a plastic beer cooler ... would be interenting to see.

GatFest is typically the weekend in august before labour day weekend. Here is the website http://www.gatineau.org/index_en.html Some are from a few years back but you get the drift Imagine a few of these tractor trailers filled to the brim with boats. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2248/2346228618_5...

Thanks for the great feedback. I have taken about 25,000 pictures with my Pentax K10D since last march of paddling alone. This does not include my non-paddling vacation stuff. Considering I started shooting both jpeg and raw format at the same time, my camera is probably pushing at 45,000 frames. I ...

I just finished uploading the rest of my pics. I have also uploaded some pics taken by Craig and Derek (with permission of course). They are grouped by date and river. They are not catalogued by people as that would have taken me until next week. They are in order of how they were taken. See http://...

It was nice to meet you. Thanks for taking the pics. Also, good job on the ALF sticker (Paul gave me one today).
He works in the industry so if anyone is looking for a vehicle wrap, etc talk to him.

Snow ... Snow ... and more frickin Snow
Ok I do realize it is still winter. My question is how does a forecast of 4cm snow overnight equate to this? I think those highly educated weather people should get their money back!
