sounds as though this topic has been pretty well covered. I've had Northwater adjustable toe block in my various open boats for ~10 years and heartely endorse them.

I tested the Nexus a couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised. The Nexus was definitely a nice boat. We didn't have the two boats to compare side by side but my impression is that the Caption has deeper, larger volumn bow and stern and more rocker and thus would be quite a bit drier. In my ...

Ha! I'm pretty comfortable paddling just about anything less than class V on my right side. I used to claim I was only a class II boater on my left side. A few months ago I was teaching a class and demonstrating a few simple strokes on my left side to a lefty student. It was in a section of river th...

Not sure there's much strength involved. It's 99.9% technique. Hip snap and timing. If you want to do strenthening exercises, work on your abdominals.

I wonder if you might do a little better with lowering instead of raising your ankle blocks. 2 to 3 inches sounds high. The higher they are the more acute the bend in your knees. Of course, I should probably add that I don't use any ankle blocks and I still lose circulation in my legs. Just a thought.

FS: Super (duper) Fly

I have a Super Fly that I'm interested in selling. Fun boat! Hardly used. The boat is in Seattle. I removed the foam bulkhead and replaced with thigh straps - otherwise it's all original. I can arrange to send pics if you are interested. $500?

I thought I'd add my "endorsement" for Northwater stuff. I've been using it for ~8 years in many of the boats I've had. Great stuff. I've never had problems with any of it.

Being of similar size although not as tall, I had the same problem with a Dagger Centrifuge. The Dagger cockpit was big enough but in order to be trimmed decently I needed to be crammed as far forward as possible which caused the cockpit combing to dig into my legs. I've had better luck so far with ...

You might consider a Score. (I just bought one so it must be good. ) I haven't outfitted it yet but am anxious to give it a try. I weigh 200 lbs, currently paddle a Forplay and really like it. I'm hoping a Score will be better on bigger water.

minicell foam by any other name?

It's not that I don't want to support our local paddle shops, but I've been looking for a cheaper source for minicell out here in the Northwest. When I mention "minicell" to people in the foam business I don't have a lot of confidence that they know what I'm talking about - at least that is the impr...

Thanks for the responses. I'll take a gander next time I'm communing with my boats. I'm one of a few people that don't own a digital camera (but I'm thinking of getting one) so pictures may not be forthcoming. I'll do my best. I bought a new boat last night and just may need to clear out some of the...

I agree with the last post. With an Ocoee you want to be trimmed just a tad bow light.

New Wave C-1 squirt boat question

I bought a used New Wave C-1 squirt boat a few years ago. Can anyone give me some clues as to how to further identify this boat? I'm ~thinking~ of selling it but don't know what it is beyond what I've described here.

Thanks,

Dave

I'm slightly over 200 lbs. I love it for runs up to easy class 4 where the gnar factor is low.
