What are people's experiences with latex booties on drysuits? I was looking into getting one of the NRS kayak drysuits and they switched from fabric booties last year to latex this year...
Thanks

Have you tried Boatwerks in Minden, ON? I know they had several open boats for sale at the end of the season; I can't remember if there was an Ocoee or a Prodigy, but there were some Bell boats for sure.
The website is closed for the season, but you could mail Jeff at jeff@boatwerks.net

I haven't read the Canoe & Kayak article, but as someone who works in an outdoors store in southwestern Ontario I can tell you that canoe retail sales are certainly down. Recreational and day-touring kayak sales are way up, but for this coming year I believe we ordered only 4 canoes. I think people ...

Hi Eric, I paddled the royalex, but only on flatwater; I like the no worry part of royalex-does the kevlar version handle significantly differently? I am mainly looking for a solo canoe for streams/small rivers/quiet waters. Thanks for the comments, everyone Mike The Rendezvous comes in both a Royal...

Wenonah Rendezvous- Opinions?
Hi All,
I had the chance to paddle a rendezvous a couple of weeks ago, and liked it a lot. It is supposed to be good for downriver class 2-3; I was wondering if anyone here had given it a go; if so, did you outfit it with a saddle?
Thanks
Mike

I second the vote for the Gath Gedi; comfy, doesn't move around, and if you paddle cold water the outfitting seems to eliminate the ice-cream headache should you swim (as i do...) In canada you can get them here: http://2imagine.net/shop/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=7 and in the US here: http://www.m...

Diesel 75
I just got a Diesel 75 and have been out in it 2x so far (cold and frozen up here in Ontario). It is super stable and forgiving, with lots of room for gear. This is only my second year paddling, so take this review for what it is worth.

UHMW plastic?
Not sure about how it would wrap, but is slippery and impact resistant. It is also easy to work, so you could buy a piece 1 inch thick and router out a channel for the gunwales of the boat as an alternative. http://www.professionalplastics.com/cgi-bin/main/co_disp/displ/prrfnbr/85578/sesent/00/UHMW-...

Newbie question re Vertige X
Hi Folks, I have paddled one season of ww in a river/play kayak, and quickly figured out that other than some surfing I am not a play person. I am considering both larger river runner kayaks or open boat. I also have a couple of small boys (one 3 years and one 4 months). Would it make sense to get a...
