kid kayak weight range

I believe the official weight range is up to 65, but (and Bill before me) found that even at 60 pounds the boat begins to be unstable.

We actually have a skirt for it. I'm not at home right now, so I can't check the manufacturer. I think it was custom.

zephyr

Ha, I can barely handle my Atom. Not ready to graduate to a squirt. Plus we're moving and I really need to reduce the fleet.

So, thanks but no thanks.

WTB Atom flotation

I've got two bags in my Atom, but I'd just as soon have complete flotation. Anyone got two bags that'd work in an Atom?

feet under pegs

I left the pegs in the fly and keeping my feet flat and under the pegs. I went over on the Yough with my feet under the toe pegs and caught my toe. I came out of the water with my big toe broken & pointing straight up in the air. Then I had to paddle through the next few rapids to get to a t...

esquif prospecteur

I'd also recommend the esquif version of the prospector. It probably can't be loaded as heavily as the canyon, but I've used it on everything from ocean surf with kids to a 3 day trip on the Sand in Ontario with my wife and 2 kids. We ran everything on the Sand that wasn't a waterfall (this was at v...

thanks!

This is a great help.

I do have the factory-installed straps, so I'll look into contact cement for the knee pads.

zephyr outfitting

We've got a new zephyr (just doing our part for the canoe market - yeah, esquif!). The shop recommended 48" bags, but they leave a few inches of empty space in the factory outfitting. Way too small for my taste. I've seen a few people mention zephyrs here - what size (length) flotation bags are you ...
