Re: Newbie from the North Woods

Use a bread knife and rasp in the knee hooks. Be careful about taking too much off the backrest. It’s easier but will move your balance point to stern heavy. Work it little by little. Smooth the foam with fine sandpaper

Re: Silverbirch Creeker

To the untrained eye, it looks a bit shorter with more rocker than a Covert 9.3 it could be narrower at the gunnels too

Re: Tandem communication

One important point is the stern paddler cannot always hear what the bow paddler says leaving the stern paddler to guess/ interpret what's coming from the bow. A good team will know what the other partner wants/ expects out of a given manouver and can correct for it. Practice practice practice

Re: Dagger Caper vs. Encore

I have not paddled any of them much but know people who have. The Encore would be dryer than a Caper. A caption should be similar in dryness but faster than either of the others. A Caption will also make a good tandem and the others not so much

For ALF get a cheap used plastic boat and save your new Shacho for reliably deeper rivers near home. Just my $.02

Re: Pumping out a L'edge Lite ride?

I just strap it to my saddle. A small notch in the saddle keeps it from slipping. Or you can use contact adhesive to make a small corral gluing in mini cell so you can strap pump and or battery to the mini cell

Re: Ledge or octane

Don't forget the Covert by Silverbirch. Quick, nimble, dry. Not cheap but worth it. If you're on budget a used option or octane85 or l'edge come around periodically
