Re: Jim Coffey breaks OC1 waterfall record
Thanks Larry, There are a lot of different factors to try to calculate before running any big drip. Some relate to body mechanics, others to consequences, others to confidence. For me this pulled together a lot of the things I LOVE about paddling. There is a short write up on our blog about the run ...

In my boat (L'Edge Lite) I just turn around and turn it off. Maybe I have long arms but it isn't a big deal.

YUP!
I just took a flat mount... pressed it on, put a security tether to the grab handle and that was it. Will have some footage from that angle up soon.

Re: stern-mount camera
I have used the Jackson mount and it was pretty good. The footage was great... and I didn't feel it was in the way...stayed on while rolling. The one I used was a prototype and after several times of dumping on shore.... the entire tube "camera and all" went flying onto shore! We got the camera back...

Re: 18m Waterfall Descent
Haha... there is a bit more to it than just flop and drop. To answer a few of the previous questions. The waterfall is called la Cascada de Truchas. It is on a section of the Alsaseca River in Veracruz Mexico. I had been thinking of running it for the past 4 years but the water levels were never exa...

Re: Canoe instruction... why do so few of us pay for it?
Although potentially cost prohibitive... we have seen many paddlers up their game during our trips to Mexico/Costa Rica...Especially when we have guest paddlers such as Eli, Marko, James and Dooley down paddling with us. I think the overall success comes from a variety of conditions mentioned above....

Hey Truckeeboater and other Cali Boaters,
I will be coming out to a conference in Sacramento in early October.
Anyone interested in meeting up for a paddle (or at least a Pizza).

Re: Esprit Costa Rica/Mexico...Have you been?
Thank you very much for the feedback, and particularly for the offer! We are working on posting some "less gnarly" footage and hope that it will draw the attention of those looking for a more moderate adventure. Those that have joined us (either in CR or in Mexico) can certainly vouch for us and our...

Re: Esprit Costa Rica/Mexico...Have you been?
Hey IanP,
Dates are every Saturday to Saturday starting Nov. 23 - Feb. 15
Dec. 7-15 is not available as we are running a specialized rescue program call R3-Elite.
Right now all dates are open. We start to consolidate and close dates as of Oct. 1... so any bookings then get priority.

We have a new program that includes 2 days of paddling instruction (Canoe or Kayak), 2 days rafting (Pacuare River) followed by 2 days with surfing instruction at the beach. For a complete land based program we offer an interpretive rain...
