Shawn Malone is outfitting at least some of the LL boats in Chattanooga. I don't think he's a dealer though.

Re: Drysuit zipper replacement

Very hard as a DIY. Need industrial sewing machine and seam sealing equipment. Dive shop or mfger would be best bet. Unless suit is in very good shape probably not worth the effort.

You might try an Ion. Give a double use as play and river runner. Might be hard to find,

Re: drysuit vs paddling suit for a big guy

Some of us older people predate drysuits. You can paddle in cold weather whitewater without one, we're still here, but, the difference in comfort is amazing. I agree with Wendy on everything she said including my interpretation of investment meaning expensive. Don't not paddle just because you don't...

Re: Helmets for hot weather?

I use a full coverage Predator in the summer simply because it is well vented. In colder weather a Predator baseball style is very warm.

Re: Fixing up an old Mohawk Scamp...

The perception saddle weighs about 9lbs so you can make it lighter by shedding it. From experience it will be a wet boat as a tandem. Still does good, you just have to dump it a lot. We made the elevator move at broken nose and then the micro eddy between the bottom drops on the Ocoee, then had to d...

Re: Paddle Grip

What Kaz said. My go to paddle has a dynel,I think, sleeve on the bottom half of the shaft. It seems to collect body oil, sun block etc so I also wash it with sand dirt. My bare wood shaft is much less slick.

Ah, styrofoam floatation. You could always tell where you had been from the little white crumbs that followed you.
