Soul Custom Boat reviews?

Anyone bought a custom boat from Soul? I would be interested to hear about the process and build quality.

Re: Advice for fully restored 1951 Old Town Canoe

You should take a look at this forum. http://forums.wcha.org/index.php

There are several threads about pricing canoes. Most settle on the idea that the sales price rarely reflects the value or cost of a restoration.

Re: Kayak conversions—and catching up!

I have a Greenboat C-1, I converted in the hopes that it would be fun for slalom races, plus have more speed than my other conversions a remix 79 and Karma Large. It was not a good slalom boat, at least not for me. The boat really likes going straight as fast as possible. I find that it is difficult...

Re: C1 Advice

Their is a lot of personal preference, so I would start with used kayaks to not spend a lot be able to resell them as kayaks, and eventually find one you like. When you look at boats, generally above 26 inches in width, will be good for someone of hour size, and look to the bottom of the weight rang...

Re: WTB: Drakker Wheelboy

I used to own it, but i weighed to much for it. If your under 170 it could be a good playboat. Even at 200 it surfed well, and rolled like a dream, but man were those stern edges unforgiving.

Re: C1 Remix conversion: Seat position

On a 79 my seat is just under 8 inches, from the back cockpit rim. I have played with it a bit. To far forward, it feels a little bit more likely to get stuck in power turns. To far back it seems to catch the stern a little bit more. But it seems like there is a really wide range of where you can ha...

Re: Slalom C1 for heavy paddler & relative beginner (in slal

I paddled a iMo, the generation before for several years, weighing from 190-220. When I was under 200 lbs the boat made me feel like a great paddler. It was responsive, turned amazingly well and was fast. At 220 i definitely caught the back edge a lot, and had to really be on my game to paddle well....

Re: Who pays for damaged gear in a rescue?

On the tangent of the prusik being to large for the climbing rope. A friend of mine showed me a Sterling Rope Hollow block which is designed to be used as a prusik loop on really small diameter rope, seems like a good option for anyone using a throw bag small diameter throw bag as their pin rope. I ...

I have been thinking of making a Wheelboy mold and wanted to get permission first.
