Deja vu?
That sound exactly like my past 2 flips. You can't actually call them swims because its too shallow to get your legs off the bottom. On the Lackawaxan in Pennsylvania, and the Deerfield in Mass, both times were the same type of flip, eddying out fast in deep enough water, totally unexpecting a rock,...

I don't have a heat gun, so thats out of the question for now. We do have a small space heater laying around somewhere, along with plenty of cardboard boxes. I'll think about that idea, but I'm not in any major hurry, so I'll probably just wait for a warm day. Thanks for all the input. Good to know ...

bit complicated
Meanwhile having taped a sheet plastic covering over your canoe with a hair dryer duct taped or clamped to a thwart so it does not directly shoot right on the hull, get it nice and warm Sounds like I could get it to work, but everything would probably fall off a million times until I got the setup ...

Nothing
I got a 3 oz. bottle from KayakOutfitting. The only labels on the bottle say how explosive and poisonous it is.

I think I'll have some trouble bringing the 14' whitesell inside. It'll take me until next summer to rearrange everything in the house. Thanks for the input though. I think I'll just wait until the next freakishly warm day, gonna guess...March 12? Yeah, March 12 sounds like a decent guess. The duck ...

Contact cement in cold weather?
Is it bad to apply it when it's about 30 degrees F?
Or does temperature not affect contact cement?
It's my first time using it so i don't want it to go the way of my 3M 5200 tube.
also-does contact cement work well on plastic boats like the spanish fly?

works pretty well.
I wear normal socks, then polyester/synthetic wool socks, then drysuit booties, then nrs attack shoes. As long as it's above 37 degrees my feet stay fine. Under that and they get pretty numb. My dad has muk-luks which are waterproof as long as water doesn't get in over the top. He says they work gre...

I bet they have subconcious canoeing references in Star Wars
I only cropped the picture. The colors and lighting are natural.
I just found that secret button on my pole.

Just wondering
Why do decked wildwater boats have that volume bulge in the back?
I assume it has some purpose for performance, but how does it help?

Ah
I haven't seen many of those comics. The character page explains it though.
Thanks.

Are you talking about the one with the thigh braces and thwart mounts? From what i've seen in c1's, it looks like it would be too tall, both seat wise and overall. The seat is about 8" high and the thwart mounts are about 12-14". I doubt it would even fit unless you cut down the tractor seat, and th...

another use of duct tape
My dad and I have AB edge paddles. My shaft had worn through 1 layer of the black. It didn't get all the way to the core though. I just keep applying a new layer of duct tape. It never gets too thick since the tape is also getting worn down. It really takes a beating now on the aluminum gunwales on ...
