Re: Wanted C1 boat saddle.
Jackson Kayaks has a C-1 conversion kit for their boats now available on their website. Somewhat similar to the old Dagger saddle. Might be a starting point for your boat. Have to look for it under parts and accessories, I think. Searching the site for C1 and C-1 comes up empty... No I don't work fo...

Re: Dagger Cascade-Hull only-for sale
Found myself still pushing this hull around in my garage this weekend. Still hoping to find it a good home. Please make an offer, it deserves to be paddled...

Dagger Cascade-Hull only-for sale
No saddle, but I have all the bolts to install a factory saddle in it's place. Hull is yellow. Bought used. In very paddle-able shape. We have two Cascades, and needed one saddle for a C1 conversion, so this boat ended up without a saddle. Hull taking up garage space. Price, negotiable, depending on...

Bob, you make it sound so EASY...."handforming" a T extrusion...metal stretching and shrinking, to get the extrusion to follow the curve of the Ford's roof. Maybe, on some day with weather too miserable to paddle, you can give me a lesson on "handforming.." a T channel extrusion. Yakima has a roof c...

I've located replacement hardware for my Yakima Landing Pads (the drill the holes in the roof solution......

and, my Mazda 3 has side curtain air bags up there, too.... so while I'd really like to mount the control towers as far outboard as possible...I need to avoid the air bags mounted up there. The aft bar would be well aft of the bags, but the front bar would be in the middle of everything. There is a ...

Yep, I have the control towers for the new car. I THOUGHT I wanted a permanent attach point setup. The more I ponder this situation, the more I become convinced that I need psychiatric therapy. My brain hurts. I have a clip-on Yakima setup for our Mini-Van (clips on the front door sills for the fron...

Thule Rack for a Mazda 3 ????
...uh.....HELP! Before I drill holes in the roof of my wife's nearly new 2008 Mazda 3 (five door) to install the Yakima rack equip I have, I want some help figuring out if I should be using a Thule setup. The Thule website shows a foot pad attachment possibility to a MAZDA factory threaded nut in th...

Looks like a Gyramax
Just FYI. I've got a blue one that looks just like that....so I think it's a Perception Gyramax. Good to maybe 185 lbs... I sink the bow at 205+.

We may have the affects of sinking the stern below the water level, or catching it's stern "edge" here being more critical to the discussion than that covered in my initial reply. The effects of the water pushing the boat around with the stern too low and the water water catching the edges and comin...

I agree with ezwater....when my boats are BOW heavy, they swap ends and I end up backstroking a lot....quite successfully, I might add. So I add gear behind me (in a Caption), and move the center of mass toward the rear. When the boat is stern heavy, it acts more like an arrow in flight. Bow heavy, ...

Thanks for the tent waterproofing treatment idea. Hadn't thought of that. (BTW, I used the tent waterproffing stuff on one of my tents a couple of years ago....the liquid seemed strangely familiar...because I had just refinished some furniture. I didn't have enough of the branded tent waterproofer t...

Cascade, Best Boat?
Dunno, but it's a nice step up when training girl scout paddlers to go from Blue Holes, to XL-14's, to (a bunch of solo open boats) to their first decked boat, in Class II to III (well, sorta III minus...) Could be why two outta three of my daughters have Cascades....

Repairing Canoe Floatation bags
I've got a couple of purple Dagger end bags for my OC2 Caption, that no longer hold pressure for a half-day's trip. I cannot find any specific hole, so think I let them overpressurize and create a leak (or two...). Anybody got a suggested method for leak identification and attack... I've tried the "...
