Oops, look forward to hearing how it went. I'm thinking of getting a Jefe, Everest or Remix. Something beefy but with more rocker than the Cascade. BTW congrats on getting your roll!!! It beats bailing or dumping out.

Big Dave I got a big melon as well(7 3/4), the only thing that I've found to fit is Pro-Tec or Cascade predator. These are full cut helmets that are still a little snug if I wear cold weather liner, but it's tolerable. I've looked at SR and some other shortys, they don't go up to 7 3/4. Maybe someon...

Thanks, all my C1's have had factory outfitting so I've never had to convert myself. Will keep you in mind if I don't use it.

In the early 1990's I went from an Old Town Tripper to a Slasher, a more sorry sight could not be found. You'll be fine going from XL to the Atom. Just put in lots of time on lake and moving water to get use to it.

I'm thinking of getting Remix or Jefe and wondering whether or not I could use outfitting out of Cascade? Or would I be better off starting from scratch? Any and all opinions on this would be helpful.
