I'm in CT for the holidays, and went boating two days ago. The creeks are still running. C1s outnumbered the kayaks, too, on Saturday!
Went skiing at Killington today though. Fun!

Richard, I agree completely. sugar cookie, I just saw this other rant on BT (or maybe it was somewhere else -- I don't remember) about swiftwater rescue instructors: http://www.cboats.net/cforum/viewtopic.php?t=7961354 They are over there whining about. Whatt BS so they got someway to help pay the b...

Larry, that looks great! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Blunt is an awesome boat. I still have mine, cracked and repaired. Unfortunately, I've abandoned it like the admins have cboats, ha ha. It's funny -- even though I've had a Burn (which I like just as much as I liked the Blunt) for two years and ...

John, If you're in Idaho, check out the Payette Rivers, forty minutes north of Boise. Together you two might enjoy the Main section of the Payette, and if you're a III-IV boater, you might enjoy the South Fork of the Payette (there are even two different sections). One section of the South and both ...

Big water for me can be a lot of things (lately I've been boating so little that I think a pool session with a lot of wake being kicked up would probably qualify as big water). But anyway. One definition of big water for me is water that -- once you're in it -- is big enough that you can't see where...

I was doing something very similar in the Atom (which I've been using to surf O-Deck on the Potomac!!) I was just using a car tie-down strap across my lap, attaching to the two side anchor points, as a lap belt. I felt that even with this improvised lap belt and the normal thigh straps I'd still be ...

I've paddled the Burn, Remix and the Blunt, and all three are great creekers. The Blunt is the classic, but you can't find those anymore. I am a little unhappy with the Burn in really big water, but what I do now is just avoid paddling out West. Either way, you really can't go wrong with the Remix o...
