I love that clip! Hold onto your T-grip!

Look, I just want a Youtube rolling video that begins with (in the voice of Troy McClure):

"Hi, I'm Craig Smerda. You may know me as 'Decker' from the Boatertalk Liquid Lounge, but today I'll be your rolling instructor."

Craig, that sounds like a good idea. You should recruit Hailey to do the C-1 parts, you do the OC-1 parts, and I think we'll be off and running. :) Plus -- forget paddling or rolling. I can do you one better . . . I could film myself doing outfitting work! Who wouldn't want to watch a Youtube clip c...

That's pretty much how I look every time after I visit the Liquid Lounge. I call them "Smigrane" headaches . . .

Look guys, I like this discussion and all, but I might have to step up here as a (self-appointed) Cboats Admin and send this thread where it really belongs! To the 'Off-Topic' Forum! :D It's fun going off-topic, I know, but then again -- so is using profanity. And we don't do either one of those thi...

That would have been so cool if they published Louie's article (I read it). I think that was like the "Kids in Whitewater Issue" or something, and Louie was coming out with stuff like: "It could be the desire to use a longer paddle is just making up for some other shortcoming. Perhaps for children b...

To quote the West Wing, "'Clean coal' is a term pollsters came up with because it polls better than regular 'coal.'"

Here's an article on this subject by C-1 and OC-1 paddler Jamie McEwan that you all might find interesting. The article is called "Fast Floaters" and includes a description of a famous Olympic moment of "minimum strokes, maxium efficiency": http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Journal_show-page...

I like the "early" footage on there. I recognize the Upper Pemi on there, and possibly . . . Joe's Brook maybe? (I was trying to figure out where that other Cascade footage was from).

Looks like a fun boat! Let's see, my guess would be -- what boat predates the Mentor? Maybe the Derelict? The Bad Influence? The Deadbeat Dad? (I think those were all early-90s designs.)

Louie, I know you're not the biggest fan of "American Kayaker," but come on, it's better than if she were on the cover of some other magazines.

That's too bad. But I'm not all that surprised. I hope we're not out there mountain biking around an abandoned whitewater course in ten years.

Oh man, I misread the title of this post as "Cracked Hull in Hairline."

Maybe I have Decker's Creek on the brain?
