For the record, I purchased a Snapdragon EXP. Even with the moved-forward seat of my Prijon Pure C-1, it worked great. I'm back on the river!
Thanks for your help, folks.

Re: Do I need a custom skirt?
I think I remember that Snapdragon Groove skirt. Never did stay on great.

Re: Do I need a custom skirt?
I suppose I'd also love to know: What type of skirts are C-1ers using?
Just curious.
Thanks,
Alden

Re: Do I need a custom skirt?
I guess what I'm specifically asking is -- does anyone have any experience using any of the Snapdragon skirts -- the EXP, or the Armortex -- or the Level Six skirts on C-1s with normal Dagger pedestal configurations?
Any opinions appreciated.
Thanks,
Alden

Do I need a custom skirt?
Hi Folks, My old Mountain Surf skirt finally bit the dust. Of course this happened right as the rivers are finally up after a year of drought . . . I just drove the local paddling store, and the best whitewater skirt they had, a Bomber Gear skirt of some kind, definitely did not fit my Prijon Pure X...

Re: Has anyone open boated the Taureau river in Canada?
Since this thread was started, I posted some footage of my friends and me running the Taureau.
What a great river.

Re: vintage slalom videos?
I have several old VHS videos I'd like to put on the Internet. "Fast and Clean" is a classic, most notable to me for one of the great moments of understatement I have ever seen in a film (so understated that I did not understand at first what had happened at the end of Linda Harrison's run). I have ...

Re: Great Falls cross bow -- Geoff Calhoun
Glad you all enjoyed it. I know I did. The race line is considered to be the river right side of The Spout -- a boof onto a rock shelf that leaves one in the current at the base of the drop, rather than in the river left "kettle." From 1976-2009 this line was considered very dangerous, and only run ...

Great Falls cross bow -- Geoff Calhoun
I thought this was absolutely worth posting. During the recent Great Falls of the Potomac Race -- a class V downriver race held on a section of rapids just outside Washington DC -- kayak paddler and former race champion Geoff Calhoun broke his paddle in the first rapid. With two more class V rapids ...

Re: SUP! (Stand Up Paddleboarding)
The question here for me is -- why has stand up paddling seemed to catch fire as a trend, while striding (standing up with a kayak paddle) never did?
(And stepping beyond the good-natured wisdom I'm sure we all share about the superiority of the single bladed paddle.)

Re: SUP! (Stand Up Paddleboarding)
It certainly looks fun. That said, I'm a bit alarmed at the speed with which it has seemed to gain legitimacy. For instance, the ACA (American Canoe Association) sticker that I got this year when I renewed my membership says: "ACA: Canoe, Kayak, SUP, Raft, Rescue." Four of those have been around for...

Re: Prijon Pure XL
Hi folks, I wanted to provide an update. I have paddled the Prijon Pure XL for almost a year now, and it's a wonderful conversion: stable, boofs well, tracks well, and I've already gotten more hardcore use out of it than my last Burn (by a mile) without a crack so far. (Knock on wood.) I did crack t...
