I would go with a MR Guide...great boat for that use.
Liberty a nice enough flatwater boat. The guide has more depth and more rocker...better for rivers. Plenty fast enough if you paddle well. A mohawk odyssey would be another good choice if you come across one.

I would just cut some 3/4"x 1/4" strips and glue them over the bad sections with epoxy or titebond II or 3 and then plane them flush to the existing hull. Then reglass it. Looks like a pretty boat!

They are both fun boats. Coming from a flashback the @hacho might be a great choice. I think you'd enjoy the blink too. Nimble, stable, quite dry...slower but not bad...easy to keep up on most rivers even when playing more. Tough choice. I'd hook up with craig n play with both. :-)
