Re: Pump allowed during ALF Tellico Race

Kneal - I had an awesome time at ALF. How could you not - boating good whitewater for 7 days in a row. - Some of us had a fireside conversation about the inactivity of Cboats, what may have caused that, and reasons as to why we like Cboats... So naturally - Eddy McGnarlz sees it fit to rial people ...

Re: Why do canoeists trash-talk kayakers?

I’m trying to understand why canoeists trash-talk kayakers so much. I learned how to paddle in an open canoe and spent a good 10 years paddling a Viper 11 in class 3-4 at least twice a week. I have spent the last 15 or so years paddling a kayak (though not as often as I would like) so I think I hav...

Re: nicest?

I will be in a kayak at ALF (injury, unable to cross stroke with any strength,) and I hear that I can expect a hard time about it. Is this true? Are kayaks that unwelcome? If so, get a life. Ok, here are my suggestions to have a good time. 1. Be flexible, the river on your list that you want ...

Just for the record - Louie's post was not what forced the thread lock / move.. that was inflight when he posted and his posting got caught in the act. What I will say is personal attacks of any kind are not permitted... regardless of their "paddle style orientation"! Well thats sounds like a dare....

It wasn't bad, although I don't agree with Scott about driving 3 hours to do it. I think the alternatives was Obed@1050 and BSF@~550(longer drive and a lot longer shuttle at least for me)

Yup, it's worth it. Ocoee at 420 cfs. is well worth it. we had a blast. the only part that was supper low was the stretch right above broken nose. it was like a new river. very creekish, new boofs and playspots. i'll definitely be back if nothing else is running. It's been releasing a steady 420 cf...

I think the lowest that I ran the sinks was 2.2ish. We ran down just past the Elbow. Thats also the the only time I've ran the Elbow.
But I've been told you can run it lower if you putin below the sinks.

I think mine are snapdragon? I only use the shaft one - the top one is annoying. With a dry suit, you'd be surprised how warm your t-grip hand stays. I have the same kind. Usually I go ahead and put both pogges on but slide the T-grip one down because my hand is hot. Matt's right though most of the...
