Re: Converting Sunburst II to yandem

I was not aware of that. I kept looking at the dimensions, the rocker profile, etc, and it seems doable. We will find out!

Re: Suggestions on solo whitewater playboat for heavy guy

Older design but I had one for many years-LL Jefe Grande. Most of the time I paddled it I was over 200, never quite to 220.

Re: C1 conversion bulkhead questions

I seldom use toe blocks in a C1 and have not had a problem falling out. I think the difference may be in how you use your thighs. I tend to grip either the bulkhead or tension against the straps. If I have been out of a boat for a while at the end of the day my quads are sore from gripping. Try that...

Re: Varathane or Varnish for Flatwater Canoe canoe?

If you are going to strip them I would go with an oil finish. Easier to apply, touch up. It may darken the wood a bit.

Re: surfc1

I surf my Dentonator on the Pacific side down here pretty often. My wife likes the beach. Getting the boat out through the surf is a workout but the ride in can be great fun. If you are on a beach break it will teach you to tuck fast and tight.

Re: Removing skin from minicell

I have used fine Shurform tool. They can make a thin cut and leave a uniform surface for gluing. I like the long (12 inch ) ones for a better grip and control.

OC2 instruction

I have a good friend I have paddled tandem with on easier whitewater. We are thinking tandem in harder stuff might be fun but do not have a boat appropriate for that. We are thinking about a 3-5 day clinic to give us access to some better performing boats and get some technique input. We are both ex...

Re: Ankle Blocks - Knee Pain - Fix?

I find my weight is very important to comfort. If I am close to or under 190 I am great-much over that and I am good for about 20 minutes
