You are right, but I'm not talking about necessarily widening the neck though, just small changes to the transition curve between neck and grip itself.. I have made slim-necked paddle grips myself (still in use unbroken, right yarnellboats?). The change I suggest that strengthens the transition does...

I dont know how the grips are (injection) molded but if they are fairly thick, you could try to reduce stress at the point of (usual) failure by rounding out/beveling the corner. Or add some G-Flex Epoxy bevel right there. Werner should change that (its easy for it probably only requires removing st...

Hi, a) what Plastic??? PP is unlikely to be glue-able with GFlex, HDPE or LDPE will get good adhesion with proper (flame, roughen up & alcohol-wipe, in reverse order) surface treatment b) the fibre properties vary so be careful about what stresses will be seen in an area to decide what and how much ...

Try heat-gunning it slowly to get the blade off (t-grip too). Cutting the blade off at the shaft and carving out the rest would get rid of the blade if no other way shows itself. Have the same project going on here - have an old wooden blade I want to re-shape, then cover with carbon, and an aquabou...

Update! First paddle in the boat, no damage visible or felt, although it was an easy II with not much rock hitting so it will have to prove itself another time.. I glued in the saddle directly now, according to Kaz' input and it seems to be quite the right position.. how come, btw. thanks again Kaz!...

Looking forward to next years Armada, we will actually try to get some more Canadian friends to c...

Ok I checked out Kajak.at now and since our time is precious to date we decided that it does only make sense for us to paddle the following stretches of Lech, Inn and maybe Leutasch. Lech 12 km Steeg - Bach I-II 10 km Bach-Häselgehr I-II 10 km Häselgehr - Stanzach I-III Inn 30!!km Innsbruck-Schwaz I...

Shythe.. I guess I went a little too far with the big daisy chain patch, one it was too thin (the material bunched up and wrinkled when rolling it down to the flexible contact cement I use) and two it was too flimsy (tore it right off due to the wrinkles and realised it would have torn off really qu...

@ Mr. Ray: Sorry, I don't own a power tool other than a drill.. which means, hand sanding for me (for now..). @2-1: Yes, might have been the MEk in the glue, looked like a little much too. Weightwise, well no worries - its ok if you try to avoid rocks, the Spark is well capable of that. Also if the ...
