Re: Aint Louie Fest 2014

jstroker, If you are on Facebook. Post on the GDI Facebook page. That will be ground zero for discussions about ALF in the months leading up to the event. There likely will be folks coming from the western provinces or the Minneapolis-St Paul area that you may be able to hook up with. If you fly dow...

Re: Moisie by NovaCraft

I have been using the Moisie's all season for tripping and teaching tandem whitewater. I am very pleased with them They are very close to the Starburst. A bit more rounded on the bottom and 2" deeper than the Starburst. These changes result in higher seats and a very dry boat. When the boat is empty...

Substitutes for vinyl glue

I need help today. Does anybody know a good substitute for vinyl glue for glueing anchors to royal ex boats? I'm outfitting a fleet of boats this weekend for my outdoor education program and am running out of glue.

Re: Lipo bilge pump batteries

Where can you get batteries for a pump? I may put one in my L'Edge. I am leaning towards Li for the low weight, but am open to suggestions

Re: Conditioning for rolling

Its hard to replace the real thing. Basically you need to train muscle memory into your body so the motion becomes automatic and you don't need to think about which is your offside knee. This takes repetition of the movement. This is the reason team sports tend to run drills in practice that focus o...

Re: Aint Louie Fest - 2012 - March 10-18

Bill, The King's Inn in Lenoir City is a motel just across the road from the Shoney's where alot of people meet in the morning to figure out what is running and who is going where. This is a good location if you want to do the Shoney thing each morning. There are a few other motels in the area as we...

Does mini-cell foam shrink??

I was cleaning up my L'Edge today for winter storage......Yes winter. We have no water to speak of in the rivers due to an overly dry summer and fall...... Anyway, I noticed the bulkhead no longer fit tightly against the bottom of the thwarts. The bulkhead is still glued securely to the hull, it jus...

The break does end on Friday the 18th. The 20th is the Sunday of the last weekend ALF would run.

Anyway, I am already looking forward to boating with everyone again at ALF.

The ALF dates are the same as our March Break from school in Ontario, which puts the dates from March 12-20th.

I also can't speak for any locals, but I am betting you could get a boat to paddle from one of them.

Checkout the Walden's Ridge site or the GDI facebook page for info as well.

Joe,

Wish I could make it in June. The upper Y is definitely a river I want to paddle. I am hoping to get down there in July or August.

Any body ever tried swimming in body armour? Seems like it would restrict your movement if you had to swim aggressively.

Any paddlers in the Michigan's UP out there?

I'm looking to paddle some spring runs in Michigan's UP this spring. Anybody out there I can hook up with. I'm on the Canadian side of Lake Superior.
