I hate soft edges on c1's, they slide too much when you really try to dig them in.
On the Karnali , if you lean just a little its edge appears...

if you compare it to the Nomad, you can still see the famous Pyranha edge ....that Pyranha boats are noted for.

I think my question was,"Why is the Burn a bad choice?" Not a bad choice but when compared to Karnali ..but why make it harder on yourself. You sit up higher compared to a kayaker and that creates a higher pivot point for the stern,...edit : (The Burn is noted for that )and unless your a digger, it...

Cummie; Why is the Burn a bad choice for a C-1? Only because it has sharp chines? I rather like the edges on my WS Z for example
only talking for creeking

and a Z is a playboat...if you come to ALF and that's your creekboat...ummmm .....hmmmmmmm....good luck with that :)

Larry The boat of choice for an all around C-1 is the Karnali its a great choice. Its fast and rolls really easy esp in a C-1 set-up, and the hull design won't throw any curves at you. And its faster than the Burn, this is a plus with using only one blade. I looked at your pictures. To me it looks l...

because the thigh brace molding cuts into your thighs, and that hurts.
Have you been leaving the kayak thigh hooks in?

and joking about what?

Are people cutting the cockpit out a bit? It doesnt look like chad did it, but I have heard of c-1's cutting it for easier wet exit and so on...
Why would you do that?

Pyranha Kayaks cockpits are XXL

Looking at Chad's old Jefe , the difference is very noticeable.

The Burn would be a terrible choice for a C-1. unless you are an really aggressive paddler. The Everest unless you are packing on the pounds or going to do overnighters would be another bad choice. The Karnali makes an excellent C-1 Conversion As stated before its edges are softer, with your higher ...

Is there any to get a deal on a Karnali un-outfitted for c-1 conversion li I think that is bad way to go. Here's why. Who are you going to sell that boat to when you want something else? If you buy it with the kayak guts. Stick the outfitting back in it and you have a larger market to sell it to. K...

The Karnali makes a great C-1...its got just enough edge...but not enough to hammer you...and its fast
