Cool, thanks for the pointers. 60" it is

Re: float bag sizing question - Mad River Outrage

As far as I know those sizes are for inflated bags, I can only find the one set of dimensions and there is no differentiation between inflated and deflated.

Hadn't given much thought to pumps or bailing. Probably a bailer for now

float bag sizing question - Mad River Outrage

I bought my first OC-1, but am not sure as to what size float bags to get for it. Its a mad river outrage, 12'.

The local paddling shops have 54" and 60" bags. I'm looking for unbiased, non-salesman opinions before I head in and get the salesman version.

Cheers

France

The boat is located in the Ardeche Department, I'm in a small tourist town called Vallon Pont D'Arc right on the Ardeche river. It's pretty much in between Lyon and Marseille if you're driving or taking the train through the Rhone valley.

Boat in France

I've got a Dag Scandal C-1 that I'd like to pass along. If anyone in Europe wants a c-1 I'm your man. 80euro, it's beat up, outfitting needs work and it definitely needs a new lap belt. But it's 80 euro. If no one wants to take it off my hands, would anyone be able to recommend a French, British or ...

Creek outfitting

First thanks for the beta on c-1 creeking. I ended up settling on an old wavesport Y, heard some good things, but mostly the price was right. So now I have to tweak the outfitting and I was wondering if there are any creek specific outfitting tricks or tips anyone has? I've heard that avoiding a lap...

C-1 creeking

Trying to get into creeking. I've been a playboater for 4 years and a whitewater tripper since I was a kid, so I know my way around c-boats, however I have zero experience with creeks and creek boats. I'm interested in either buying an already converted creeker, or a good creeker that I can convert ...

Most meat eaters would appreciate a vacuum sealed package of AAA kobe beef steaks. At least an inch or two thick. If He's a vegetarian, stick with beer. If he doesn't drink perhaps he'd prefer some fine cheese or a fruit basket.

If the guy has dread locks, get him a half O of BC Bud

French Playspots in Rhone-Alps and Provence

Does anyone know of accessible playspots in the south of France in addition to the Ardeche and Hawaii sur-rhone?

Also are there any good French paddling forum websites?

Carbon Paddle Repair

I cracked my paddle blade the other day, about 10cm from the throat to the mid section of the blade.

Any suggestions on how to repair it? I was thinking epoxy and a kevlar patch

Thanks for all of your insight. I can't afford to fly my boat in from Canada, and Air Canada won't take it as luggage. Apparently they've also put an end to taking paddles, a move I don't fully understand. One of you mentioned Lyon, I know Hawaii sur Rhone is there, perhaps there's a paddling shop, ...

C-1 in France, Paddling the Ardeche

I'm going to be working in southern France in the spring and was wondering if there was anywhere along the Ardeche river that I could rent a c-1 play boat (I own a Converted Jackson All-Star), or an OC-1 such as an Ocoee, Esquif zoom/zephyr/spark etc... I know I can get a kayak, but i'd rather go ro...
