Re: Multi Purpose Tandem / Quick Release Center Bag
Got it, it's much quicker lacing through the loops as opposed to holes in the hull. How far apart are the holes for the loops, 1.5"? how far between the loops, 3"? Is one keeper strap enough? Since the center bag is so big I was thinking 2 might be a good idea. I was wondering about the fronts and b...

Re: Multi Purpose Tandem / Quick Release Center Bag
I live up in Rhode Island, don't really have a local WW run, but get on the Quaboag, Deerfield, and others in MA/CT. I've never used the P-Clips on a Royalex boat, have always drilled the hull just below the gunnels. A single line should be easier to install and remove than the criss-cross method I ...

Multi Purpose Tandem / Quick Release Center Bag
I picked up a OT Appalachian that I am really liking. I am using it for solo tripping, but also want to use it for some tandem WW runs, up to and including Class III. I put end bags in, but I think a center bag would be really nice for longer, more difficult rapids; it don't move too good when it's ...

Northeast: Trade Atom for Cascade
I have a nice Atom (solid Yellow color) that I would be interesting in trading for a Cascade. I would also trade it for a Royalex tandem canoe like a Penobscot or Prospector.

Use your ears
Go over the bag with your ear real close, you may be able to hear it or detect the puff of air. Last time my bag leaked it wasn't at the seam but in the exposed area where it contacted the bag cages

Don't understand...
What good is a Cascade hull if it don't have a saddle? Isn't the saddle the best part of a Dagger C1?

I just got back from my second time out on moving water in my new (to me) Atom. I'm also 210+ pounds and it seems to sit a little low in the water with me in it. After spending a year and a half confidently paddling my Vertige in up to Class III water, the Atom in Class I/II makes me feel like a beg...

Markzak
Markzak,
I'm in a very soggy Rhode Island and have no cool C1s to trade for your Atom. I do have some ca$h. Wouldn't mind driving to PA some time to see how things are down there.

Sea Kayak Conversion
I've only paddled it twice but it seemed pretty quick - I was using a short bent shaft paddle with hit-n-switch technique. Shouldn't be a problem keeping up with a group of kayakers unless they are doing racing/fitness training. When I used a straight paddle I could move it along with a j-stroke, bu...

C1 Fever
I seem to have caught a little case of C1 fever and have it in my mind that I need one. Anyone in the New England area have any C1s to "Donate"? I know of a few people who like to hoard boats that they never plan on paddling, yet refuse to sell or loan. I'd love to get my hands on an Atom, looks lik...
