Re: Semi rigid Canoe Thigh Straps
I was planning to do as KNeal. Make my own. I will probably also make them longer than the old ones (i am 6`1`and use a high saddle). I just hoped someone still sold some all made. Guess i am lazy. Good winter project though, before ski season i mean. Stiffening straps with epoxy or urethane might b...

Re: Gluing with Vynabond in the cold
Thanks for the suggestions. This is about what i plan. I was worried too much heat would possibly degrade the glue. Your suggestions seem to indicate it is OK. I will definitely be carefull not to apply too much heat though, just in case. I should have time to reheat every 5 minutes for a while so t...

Semi rigid Canoe Thigh Straps
I have BlackFeather brand canoe thigh straps that have lexan pieces inserted to make them semi-rigid. Anyone know where to find those or similar (semi-rigid) thigh straps. I did search the web and found none. Are these not in vogue anymore? Any reason? I have been planning to make my new straps myse...

Gluing with Vynabond in the cold
It is gonna be 5c (41F) this week-end here. Is it OK to glue Vynyl patches in Royalex Canoe at this temperature. ANy precaution to take. I will keep the glue and patches inside until i am ready to glue but cannot put the canoe inside. The patches are for anchoring thigh straps so, the gluing has to ...

Re: Drysuit gasket replacement how to videos/pictures
If you go to NRS web site ( nrsweb.com i think), find the page for replacement gasket there is a link to a good video. I replaced both latex booties on my drysuit after viewing the video. It was not as clean as in the video but a fairly good job without too much questions or worry. Much easier than ...

Re: Mad river Caption - ok?
I am aware Royalex is not what it used to be but i remember the problem being a lot worse with the Madriver Caption. Other Royalex canoes at the time were apparently better. Maybe it was just a bad batch or they use thinner royalezx than other boat companies. I know some people who sent back their c...

Mad river Caption - ok?
When mad river first introduced their version of the Caption
Lot of people complained about the too soft Royalex. Some
returned their boats.
Has this been fixed? partially fixed.
My old Dagger Caption is showing wear.
Thanks,
Sylvain

Re: Dry-Suit feet replacement
[quote="Fauvel"]I tore my latex Dry-Suit feet at the Put-In on Monday. Do you know a place where i can ship my dry-suit for repair. It is a NRS but made by OSS i think. If i can find replacement latex feet i am handy enough to do the repair myself. Gore-tex feed even better. Lots of place sell repla...

Replacement Drysuit Goretex Feets
Thanks for the replies. I will check with Kokatat but my suit is
not a Kokatat. We will see. If this does not work i'll probably
make my own. I dont want Latex (risk of tear too high) but i have the sewing machine.

Replacement Drysuit Goretex Feets
I am looking for gore-tex feet to replace the Latex feet on my Dry-Suit. Is there a place where i could order some. I know some places in the US could do it for me but i am not at ease with the idea of shipping my drysuit across the border (i am in Quebec). I found a place here that can do it but th...

Replace old dry suit latex even if little used?
Hello, I am wondering if Dry-Suits latex gaskets become more fragile with time even if you do not use the dry often and rarely use sunscreen or bug repellant. I use my dry-suit less than 5 days a year (around Montreal it is usually either too cold or too hot, i use it in short transition periods). I...
