Looking for volunteer race organizer for 2012 and future events. Have gates, radios, scoreboard, watches, etc.

Either boat. It is great to see more open boats on the rivers these days and L'Edge and Option have influenced this higher flux. The true measure will be, who has the higher percentage of used/sold in about 2 years.

The Option is lighter and out performs the L'Edge by orders of magnitude.

Is the foam on the inside? Hip pads? or on the outside to shed water? Personally, I would let it go in the citizens class, but would leave it to the designated chief judge and boat inspector to make the call. If it were a regular class, I would reluctantly say that the rules should be adhered to, pr...

2011 Open Canoe Slalom Nationals moved to Salida, Colo

The dates are the same as the Golden, bid.
Racing is July 8-10 and practice July 5-7
For up to date info as it evolves, check Keech's site:
http://ocs.whitewater-slalom.us/oc-2011c.htm

This was a last minute change due to expected high flow conditions in Golden.

The northeast still over the years has by far, held the majority of the Nationals, just not recently. Opening up the dates would help, because we are a spring/fall water area. After the Sept. '96 nat's at Zoar Gap there were complaints that the juniors couldn't compete because of school, so since th...

Would racers drive across the country for one day of racing? I agree that for some sites/bids, it is difficult to get 5 consecutive days of water. My preference would be do reduce the practice days to one, at most 2 days.

Aren't there other things we can be doing as committee members to help promote the sport, than always focusing on changing the classes. The class structure, as it is, or even as it was 6 years ago, is not deterring those who want to compete. And, if for example classes like the combined have only a ...

Open Boat National Classes

Having more classes to paddle in, and more money for the race organizers is far more important to me than a little bit of class confusion.
