John,

I've never converted a boat personally. I bought the H3 from a guy named bernie who does some very nice conversions, and have bought all my other c1's used as converted boats as well.

As far as conversions go, I know what I want and don't want in my outfitting, I just don't trust myself to ...

I'm using a bomber gear k bomb kayak skirt. surprisingly, it's not stretched to the max behind the seat. There is a quite a bit of room for play there, however, I need to move my weight forward in the boat, so this could only be temporary.

the skirt is crazy tight everywhere else, side to side and ...

I've got an H3 245 that I just purchased from bernie as well. I've haven't had it out much, but here's my initial thoughts.

First off, I'll admit right away to already swimming out of it. I have a bomber gear skirt which is super duper tight, and it popped off on me. I'm going to look into a custom ...

A lot of the slightly older wavesport boats (ace, ez, forplay) have interesting cockpit shapes with a fair bit of leg room once you are in them. I'm not sure if they'd be any easier to actually get into, but might be worth checking into.

Personally I think you will find a 52" paddle too short. But that said, there's tons of variance in personal preference for paddle length, so you might love it! Chopping down a cheap paddle is definately a good idea.

As far as paddle material, I find that wood is harder on my joints than a ...

Anita,

When you say you had an offside dislocation, I'm guessing you mean on your t-grip arm? If so, I would err on the side of a shorter paddle, a long paddle will expose that shoulder to a greater chance of re-dislocation.

That said, I think a 52" paddle will be too short for you unless you have ...

Hey Brock,

Another great way to improve is to paddle with other c-boaters! I'm in ontario too, and always looking for more people to paddle with! My home river is the ottawa, but I make it out to some other rivers too. If you are looking for people to c boat with, drop me an email (judd_robertson ...

I've never tried a skirt on a boat that big, but I'd be afraid of all that surface area making it easier for the skirt to cave on you. Getting full of water might not be an issue, but 2 or 3 feet of ...

I actually agree with martin about the aquabound wearing factor. aquabound paddles really don't look like they are wearing down at all. But they do break! I've broken 2 so far. The story I've heard is that because it is injected molded carbon, it is quite wear resistant, but if you hit it the right ...
