Re: Found a Cascade but...
Steve - if you're still in need of someone to do this errand, I can probably do it. I live within an hour of Mt Vernon.

Re: WTB: OC-2 for Class II-III whitewater, mild tripping
I really like the Millbrook boats I've paddled, but I am wary of a composite hull for a boat that will, I imagine, get a fair bit of wear and tear.

WTB: OC-2 for Class II-III whitewater, mild tripping
My wife and I are looking to add an OC-2 to our fleet. We are hoping to use it on ww up to Class III plus some mild tripping. I'm familiar with the Mohawk XL-13/14 hull, but would consider a Probe 13/14, Esquif Vertige X or Pocket Canyon, etc. If folks have other suggestions about models to consider...

Re: Loaner/rental open boat in SLC/Boise?
Sorry, Jeff, I may have gotten a little jumpy and posted this when I didn't hear back from you. Didn't mean to impugn your sincerity - it's on me. Thanks so much for your willingness to do this!

Loaner/rental open boat in SLC/Boise?
I just scored a cancellation permit for the MF Salmon, launching on 7/24. It'll be low, but we'll have skilled boaters and we are confident we can pick our way down. I'm hoping to find an open boat for myself so there's less weight in the raft and (primarily) because canoes are more fun. I live in B...

Re: C1 for those who need a tall saddle?
Wow, thanks for all the suggestions, folks. Adam, I may take you up on trying out some of those C1s once the weather warms up - I'd be willing to drive out to the Hudson or Dryway to sit in some different boats. And I hear y'all on the "just bear with it, and your legs will adapt" theory - trouble i...

C1 for those who need a tall saddle?
Hi folks: I'm an open boater who has been increasingly intrigued by the idea of trying C1. Problem is, I have long legs that don't like to bend, so I need to raise the saddle in most boats substantially to be halfway comfortable. For example, I needed to raise the stock saddle in my Ion 1.5" (Jeremy...

Re: What paddle to buy
I'll second the vote for FoxWorx. Someone lent me his Fox paddle last fall when I broke my Aquabound, and I liked it better than anything else I tried. The blade shape is great, more "catch" than my AB paddle, and better in shallow water (common up here in New England). The blade is also durable for...

Re: Boat demos in the SE
Wendy - thanks for the offer, but Laura decided she didn't like the Option, and I decided I preferred the Ion.
The Spark sounds like an interesting boat - we'll see if we can try one out.

Boat demos in the SE
Hi folks: My wife and I are taking a week to jaunt around the southeast, doing some mellow paddling, connecting with old friends, and enjoying an unstructured week. She is also trying to find a boat she likes more than what we've got (Nitro and Ion). She's on the smaller side, so the boat can't be t...

Re: Very sorry to hear this news from yesterday at ALF
I was very saddened to hear this news. I recently lost a friend in a climbing accident, and, for me, the suddenness of a loss like this is the hardest part. Someone much loved, whose last conversations were probably contented because of what they were doing, suddenly snatched from the world. My hear...

Lol, Steve. "Some people don't know how good they have it..." Thanks for keeping things in perspective!

Re: Any interest in a Nitro?
Sorry, Stu. Found a buyer for one boat, and I can't convince my wife to give up the other one. I'll keep working on her, though, and will post back here if she agrees to sell. (We have no place to put the dam thing... Is this what marriage is all about? Just got married last year. I love her, but so...

If you sent me a PM you should have received a response. Seems like a number of folks are thinking about using the Nitro as a tandem project.

Any interest in a Nitro?
I just lost my storage spot for my two Nitros (Ahh, the difficult parts of life - why do friends have to move? Especially when they have spacious garages?). I'm looking around for a new storage spot, but since the boats don't get much use any more (have an Ion and an Option as well) I thought I'd po...
