Lived in the Rochester area a bit when I was a kid, it's great, and the paddling isn't half bad. Locally you'll have Lock 32, a good park and play (and pay unfortunately) place. You're about an hour away from the Salmon and the Letchworth Gorge, and 1.5 or so hours from the Black. As for who to talk...

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. For me, this just isn't worth dying for. I want to be the best paddler I can possibly be, and run the most difficult whitewater I can. But I never want to put anyone in the position of having to call my parents or my girlfriend and tell them something ha...

Lots of rivers have Class IV moves on a Class III run, meaning, the difficulty is there but the consequences aren't necessarily. That's a good way to gauge how you are progressing. I know some people feel comfortable just jumping in and going for it, but that's a personal call. For me, progression i...

Yeah, I'm going to be doing cage style. I'm riveting in the cage, and I'm going to run the cord across every eight inches from the deck plate the saddle/front of the knee pads. This is what the outfitting looks like so far. I'm waiting to put in ankle blocks until after a trip or two, to see where I...

Gaia Airbags
I'm picking up new bags for my Viper 11 ahead of Cheatfest, and I'm leaning towards the Gaia Nylon ones. As far as I understood the website, they come with a lifetime warranty.
Anybody have any reason for not picking up a set? Also, which size is best for a Viper 11?
Thanks in advance

The Petawawa River in Algonquin Park, Ontario fits your bill very closely, I think. It has a full spectrum of difficulty, from Class I riffles to unrunnable falls. What makes it unique, though, is that there are marked, maintained portages for every rapid, even the riffles, so that if you get to som...
