Blackfly Shorts
Hey guys! We've been using this stay-at-home period to get caught up on about five years of video backlog. We're trying to post a new Blackfly Short every Tuesday. Here are a few that we've already released hades's Canyon of the Boulder - Montana https://www.youtube.com/embed/RHCElN954pM Middle Icic...

Mosquito Burrito - A canoe for kids!
Hey guys, We have a unique opportunity to create a kids canoe at Blackfly, and the project has reached the state where we're taking pre-orders. So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we're hoping that that'll lead to enough pre-sales where we can make the Mosquito Burrito a realit...

Re: Condor vs Rebel
That would be great...just hope this time it's not the weekend my other daughter is graduating high school. I was anxiously awaiting for the day a couple years ago, but nailed graduation perfect so missed out. For sure! I reached out to Alex to see what boats he has, but he may have already put on ...

Re: Condor vs Rebel
This will be tough because there aren't many people who have paddled both. I've only sat in a Rebel for 10 minutes so I can't speak much to it. The Rebel is faster than the Condor, the Condor is more maneuverable, much drier, and more stable/predictable. The Condor paddles kind of like an Ocoee, but...

Re: Blackfly Condor
Some Condor notes: I've had the chance to take the Condor down a few different runs now, including the Green Narrows and the Upper Gauley. I'm blown away with this boat, and it'll be replacing the Option as my go to boat on all but the steepest of runs. The best aspect, and what has represented the ...

Re: Northwest Kanu Fest 2018
I too have been keeping an eye on the snowpack, and it looks great! If I'm reading it right, there's more snow this year than there was last year, correct? Levels were awesome last year, and the locals told us that getting on the Twisp isn't a certainty in July. More water would clean up the Chuwach...

Re: Does anyone canoe in Colorado?
Agree that the Probe will be a good beginner boat. Come out to the Colorado Kanu Fest in BV this July and you can try the new plastic designs and see if any will be good for you. At your size and weight, there are a ton of options. As to fixing the Ovation, if it's not too far gone, look up the "ABS...

Re: Blackfly Condor
For sure Tony! We're planning on having a tandem configuration as well. I think the Condor will be a great boat for larger paddlers

Northwest Kanu Fest 2018
Attention western paddlers! The Northwest Kanu Fest is back, and bigger than ever! Last year, over 40 canoeists and kayakers descended on the Methow Valley in central Washington for an awesome weekend of whitewater, camaraderie, and tacos! We'll know for sure once we get a production boat. Prototypes were about 60lbs but there is usually a change between prototype and production

Blackfly Condor
Hey y'all! Blackfly is stoked to announce that the Condor, our 11-foot plastic canoe, will be going into production! It's at the mold makers now, and we anticipate hatching Condors by the beginning of summer. 29388946_10155507678756819_7019981534002151424_n.jpg While the original goal was just to ma...

Re: Return of the Blackfly Ion....
Quick update, now that the new Ion is available in a variety of colors, and the first batch has shipped. It's taken a long time for us to come to terms with it, but the new Ion is definitely better than the old Ion. At first, we thought it might just be different, but having paddled it now for a cou...
