Mountain Surf
For the Atom you need the Mountain Surf Dag C1-300. http://www.mountainsurf.com/wwfitlist.shtml It's up to you as to whether you want the Basic o-Ring or the Dur-O-Ring. For most uses I don't think the bombproof fit is necesary. I tend to get trashed in the occasional hole & my EZ-ON has not popped....

we only got smacked
Kneal & other Richmonders, Man, I didn't know that y'all got slammed so badly. I hope that everyone is safe. I got power at home Sunday night & cable tonight. I dumped my rain gauge twice & measured a total of 8.5" here. I've been busy deploying generators to cell sites so that folks can use their c...

Quite informative indeed.
Miss Isabel is going to bring the creek up Thursday. Flash flood warnings are already up here For me, if I'm not working all day & night for the next week, I'm going to be up the creek I've got the boats secured, but accessable

You do need to think about some place to stow your drink & keys. Hydration is a big deal. Be sure to create something that will keep your prefered beverage container secure. I use a 32oz. Gatorade jug. My 1st version of the holder allowed the jug to spin during squirts. Just let 32oz take a spin bet...

backrest
When I built my seat I included a backrest. They are both made of minicell. To firm up the backrest I formed a piece of poyethelyne that attaches to the screw holes for the 'yak back-band. It comes foreward from there to meet the foam & turns down. Foam is glued to poyethelyne.

Everybody needs a little glass
Adam said that he was trying to convert everyone to glass. Beleive it. I love my Viper! I'm reading Squirt Boating & Beyond. It makes me want a real squirt boat 8) Jim, find a bridge abutment in deep water that gives a subtle eddy-line. I've found that my Viper likes those best. Ease out into the cu...

Here's a link
I use Zaveral carbon fiber paddles for flatwater. The grip, shaft & blades are carbon. Zav's web-site tells how to put the carbon grip on the carbon shaft. It's under "How to Shorten your Paddle". http://www.zre.com/gearcare/paddlesport/howtoshortenpaddle.html By the way, these shafts do flex in fla...

Bell
Glad to read that you're ok. I use a Bell "water sports helmet". I bought it because of Bell's reputation for making race car & motorcycle helmets. I figured that Bell has been making helmets for racers for ever & I trust them. The helmet is not listed on their web-site & I haven't seen one in shops...

Who else is going to Nationals?
I know Dave will be there. Who else? I'll be camping at Turkey Creek. Look for a blue GMC extra cab with a Viper (white hull, baby blue & purple deck) on the rack & maybe a Penobscot (after I pick up the Penobscot). My tent is white & orange. I'll be arriving late Saturday, after racing the Nuese in...

My fix
I had the same problem in my Cascade. I made a new back-rest that is 5.75" above the seat. With this set up I no longer slip out of the straps. When I set up my Big EZ I made the back-rest 5" above the seat. This works well too. Another idea is to drill additional holes in the console & move the cen...

don't get the big
I don't know how the Super is. I will not paddle technical stuff in me big ez. It's just too slow to make the moves. It's a great park & play boat though.

Ya' gotta get to an Armada
Nathan, like I told you at Surfer's. Y'all have to get to an Armada. Folks bring all sorts of boats & swap 'em around, just like we did on the Nanty. Only most folks won't take your boat as for as long as I took yours  There was everything from race boats to conversions of all sorts & even a G...

big holes
A larger opening would be nice. It took a little effort to get out yesterday & that was in flatwater. I think I'm going to loose the shoes :-? . I've also heard good things about SnapDragon. I like the MS grab-loop. They put a piece of tubing around the webbing which maintains a loop. That makes it ...

My skirt
Hey Adam, I'm using the Hydroponics by Jag Mfg. that I got with my Viper. It's a bungee type. It popped for the 1st time today while rolling. I think I had it a little high on my torso. After a short swim to the bank I lowered my skirt & had no more problems. This skirt is dry if you keep the boat f...

You know who you are  . I wouldn't have let anyone on this board know either if I had been in a KAYAK  on the Nantahala this past weekend. Especialy after an invite went out with no response. You looked so short in that boat that I almost didn't recognize you. It was great to meet a few ...
