I got my picture on CBoats!!!
:D Now I'm FAMOUS! :D 2nd from the top, on the right (red helmet, red/orange Big EZ) is Mike W. I think 2nd from the top on the left is Warren. In an X. Last, but not least is Seth at the bottom of the page. I'll leave the naming of the group to someone who can name them all. Sorry, but there are fo...

old Kevlar boats
My old Wenonah Marathon does not have a gel-coat. I think it's just the foam core, Kevlar & whatever epoxy is there to stiffen the Kevlar. Whatever you do, don't put on more than you need to. If yours is the old Marathon like mine, you are already at a weight disadvantage to the newer V1-A, not to m...

Re-coated?
Hey Dana,
My Mitchell has seen a whole bunch of abuse. Would you explain the "recoating" of your paddle? What exactly did they do? Why? What do they charge for it?
Thanks,
Mike W.

Worlds update
Andrew Bell & Seth Chapelle move to the finals in OC. Eli Helbert was in 6th. 3 of the top 4 C-1's are from the US. Check out Luke Hopkins' scores. He threw the 1st loop of the competition. "even though he (Barry Kennon) washed out a few times was able to put together enough ends and variety to land...

The Armada was awesome!
This was my 1st Armada, but it was not my last! Even though the rivers that we wanted to paddle Friday were deemed too high & we didn't paddle. I had a ball on the NBP. I'll admit that my primary reason for going was to try a Viper. Once I got there, that wasn't such a big deal anymore. It was great...

Yeah, I'd add one to the stable.
Jim, We did have a good visit. It's so neat to be able to finally put faces with names. Thanks for letting me try your Viper. It's a neat boat. I never really got it to squirt, but that eddy-line was on my off-side & not real strong. I think that with a stronger current differential & spinning towar...

whoops
Gloves? I don't need no stinkin' gloves. Real men paddle with their bare hands! The pogies actually help me hold on to the paddle. I should have been using them at the Armada! By the way, I was not showing off. I was just trying to keep the boat upright after that paddle-snake attacked  . If I...

Pogie instructions
There was some interest in Bob's pogies at the Armada. So, here is a link to his instructions: http://wwslalom.org/pogies/ I added a strip (kind of shaped like a boat-tailed bullet) to the top seam in the top pogie of mine. The point will be ahead of your knuckles, with the widest section at your kn...

I want to try both of these
I want to try 'em both. I'm probably not ready for a squirt boat, but there's only one way to be sure
I'd ask fo the photos, but the truck is nearly loaded & I'm heading north shortly. See y'all at noon tomorrow.

I'll be there Friday
I'll be there Friday. Look for a blue GMC pick up with North Carolina plates (Mohawk Canoes plate on the front), a Black & White Cascade & a red Probe 11 (for sale) on the rack. The Big EZ will be in the bed. If I'm lost, flag me down

Friday
Hey Seth (& everybody else),
Scott & I are shooting for noon on Friday. Plan is to run it, then meet y'all & run it again. If we are late, we'll just wait for you to go at 2:30 or 3:00, rather than risk missing you.

Youhg directions
Here are the directions that Seth gave for the lower Yough: I'm hoping that somebody will paddle Friday that knows where the campground is. Scott & I are planning to run it at noon on Friday. Then run it again when Seth & his Mom show up at 2:30 or 3:00. If we show up late, we'll just wait for the 2...

I'll throw everything on the truck. Look for the blue GMC from Carolina driving around lost. I'll have the Probe 11, Cascade & Big EZ.
