Re: WaveSport XXX Converted to C-1

What are you asking for the boat and where are you located?

Re: Dry Top and Pants vs. Dry Suit

In hindsight, I would go for the 1 piece drysuit. Yep. Looking back just buying a drysuit would have been much easier. The combo was dry for the first week or so I used it, but then the Nookie gear dry pants started leaking everywhere and eventually just fell apart. It got me through the spring, bu...

Re: Dagger pedestal outfitting in Everest or Stomper

Those little bolts where the metal straps attach for the bulkhead are generally the easiest place to attach the "wings" of the dagger saddle.

Re: Stomper 90?

I just started paddling a Stomper 90 as a kayak , but I'll give a few quick words.... Good primary stability and excellent secondary. Just enough edge to snap the boat around if you really lean it over, but not so much to trip you up. The volume keeps the boat on top of just about everything. Boofs ...

Re: Jackson Hero/SuperHero C1

The Hero is so slow I can't imagine it would make an enjoyable C1.

I'd go for a Stomper. More speed, more versatile...

Re: C1 Playboating massacre!

Any C1 is going to scare and discourage you right off the bat. They are all going seem tippy and squirrelly and slow compared to your massive open boat. Just learn to paddle it. I thought I was going to die the first time I paddle my Z conversion on class II, but eventually I got better it became fu...

Re: Jackson Rockstar / Jackson C1 Outfitting

I'm outfitting a Project X, should be on the water tomorrow. My outfit is based on the fencepost strongback and so the seat is adjustable.Just wondering how your boat is trimmed, or the ideal trim for a playboat. Should I trim it" neutral" like my Remix or a little stern heavy to avoid pearling? I'...

Re: maybe next year?

That would be a very impressive drop in an open boat.... I believe it is right around 35 feet.

Needless to say, I won't be the one doing it.

Seriously? Not to hijack the thread, but at that point a C1 or kayak is more practical than 15lbs of pumps and batteries.

Out of curiosity, how did you like the Shiva as a C1 and in general?

Even with the fit pads properly adjusted? I've got a large head/lots of hair and after a little fiddling have my T-dub fitting like a glove, or like a good helmet.

Re: Royalex Adhesives

A putty knife will get generally the foam off and after that some sanding should get any bits of foam or glue that are left. I generally don't worry too much about getting every last little bit of old glue off. The new glue will stick to the old glue. And, yes: Weldwood for the foam and Vynabond for...
