Re: Shoulder injury question.
I have been through two shoulder surgeries on my right shoulder. Can't paddle double blade anymore, so came back to the canoe. I paddle left, consciously keeping my right elbow low when I paddle. Rolling is fine, but cross strokes and peeling in and out of eddies still put it at risk. I have been kn...

Re: Snapdragon canoe pogies, anyone tried em?
I have some old Nantahala pogies, long gauntlet. Just cut/slived
one of them to fit the t-grip. Choose the under-lap portion of the pogie and don't cut too far back. Warm and works great.

Re: Off side roll.
Yeah, watching someone do that in an open boat always amazed me. It is even better to see it in a combat situation. I can't figure out that contortionist trick for anything. Most of my tries have ended with me fighting off inhaling water because I begin laughing about the ridiculousness of my not ha...

Re: Pyranna S-8 235
I am a hugh fan of Pyranha boats (and most of my time in kayaks were as, well, kayaks). I gotta say, the S-8 was not a favorite. I thought it would be the perfect river-running surf machine for me (6-4/200lbs). Alas, the length was good for speed, but I found the volume at the ends to be too lacking...

Re: L'Edge or OCtane1 ?
Wendy - Thanks for the foam carving idea. That is something I might try. I got out yesterday on a creeky run - really, below my ELF - and had a blast, and the control was great. Didn't have to roll (or dust myself off after falling over). I boofed a couple small ledges and dropped through a fun slot...

Re: L'Edge or OCtane1 ?
I just bought a L'edge Lite on Saturday, and after taking it out this afternoon at a play spot and doing some high volume ferries and running it intentionally over some small wave holes, etc. I have some opinions. First, I am coming from a Viper 11. I really like that boat, and have kept it, but I d...

SW, I used #8 x 1 1/4" stainless woodscrews to attach the gunwhales. They are recessed about 1/8" - give or take a 1/16 on some...haha - and go from inside to outside, through the ABS and through both sections. Screw spacing is 5" center to center. (I pulled a spare screw from my workbench area, and...
