School of Gnarlz
It's been 10 years since Eddy McGnarlz hit the scene here on Cboats.Net w/ his now world famous Cross-J stroke. The cross J never really panned out, but we're still at it trying to progress the sport! I've been spending most of my pandemic time on a long time passion project I've been meaning to see...

Re: Esquif Ledge vs Silverbirch Agent 8.8
Good way of looking at it is - an Agent is basically an Option and 91 made into one boat. Regarding durability - in over 3 years, and hundreds sold in NA, I haven't had a single customer contact me about their hull cracking. Pretty unbelievable actually. Now... I personally have cracked an SB hull!!...

Re: Silverbirch Agent 8.8 Vs Covert 9.3
Here's some more inspiration... my buddy Adam on his first Upper Yough run - only had been paddling a canoe for 6 months at the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWFd5cM0LzM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuvaYEKy22U Stoney Fest. 20 canoes, 80% Agents https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7YBEc4uDYY...

Re: Silverbirch Agent 8.8 Vs Covert 9.3
Based on what I've gathered. It's an Agent that you are after! A L'edge to Covert will feel fairly similar when all is said and done with little differences here and there. The Agent will feel like a whole new boat and can pretty much guarantee you'd love it. It can be tough to make a well informed ...

Re: Condor vs Rebel
While we're getting the scale out, something interesting would be to measure the waterline of the Rebel, 9.3, and Condor.. I bet the waterline on the Condor is much closer to the 9.3 than the Rebel. We keep hearing versatility w/ regards to the Condor... which is why I'd rather compare to Covert ser...

Re: Condor vs Rebel
A scale sounds fun... we can take bets! Would be nice to weigh a few different boats of each model(Rebel/Condor), see the difference! I would also like to get solid seat time in a Condor, gotta see what all this hype is about! I'm happy that you are stoked about the end result on this one... Must be...

Re: Condor vs Rebel
I'll bite.. Feedback from Universities that have SB fleets, with regards to the Rebel has been great. New students doing well with them. "Speed wise it’s right there with the Rebel on straight line and acceleration but beats the Rebel due to it’s dryness." ... I'm thinking there will be a three-peat...

Re: Condor vs Rebel
"two completely different boats" seems to be the consensus among those that have paddled both.
regarding weight, the rebel is a quite a bit lighter, but other than that - hard to make a comparison... both are HDPE and both are over 11ft

Re: Covert vs Rebel Handling?
10.5 would give you nice comfy feel, good stability, plenty of nimbleness, and solid glide for ease of paddle.

Re: Covert vs Rebel Handling?
Based on reading this and the other post... At 230 - I think what you are looking for is either Covert 10.5 or a Condor.
Seems like you want more speed than an Agent will give you.

Virginia Whitewater Weekend
Went down to VA this past weekend and had an awesome time. Ended up running into 15+ canoes all weekend. 90% of which were Silverbirchs. A lot of Covert 10.5 Solos. Great to see. The video turned out pretty good, wanted to share it here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tky3OZJF-aI" onclick="window...

Re: Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
Based on the original post... sounds like you should consider ordering a Condor from Blackfly - due out this summer. Edgy long boat, that supposedly may work as a tandem - so 250lbs shouldn't be an issue.
