Tommy, It isn't the class 5 talk. Its you calling yourself an ambasador for paddle sports. In the last year I paddled canoes, kayaked, rafted, and ran a shredder down the upper yough. I took 40+ people on their first river trip ever, helped 4 people buy their first whitewater canoe, and pulled over ...

Delaware
So I'm going to be working around Middletown Delaware for the next few months. I don't think there is too much whitewater in the area but was wondering if there were any pool sessions semi-local. You guys know of any or a short afterwork run?

When I started trying to paddle whitewater in a canoe I didn't know a single person who was a cboater all I had was a copy of "Thrill of the Paddle" and I found cboats looking for more information. I have met maybe a dozen cboaters, all better than me but I don't know what really good means, since t...

I found a 1970 copy at Powells in Portland a while back for like $3. Pretty great read for entertainment dosent tell you much about running the river though... I always enjoy comparing the descriptions and how much things have changes from Carters time to Corbett and then to the more recent ones fro...

Icyone I was not saying it wan't a whitewater boat, more pointing out that it was advertised as one at the time. Thought it was relevant to the oldest whitewater canoe thing. I was talking to someone the other day whose ex-husband used to fill them with milk jugs and innertubes and run the Maury thr...

I used to live by the James in Richmond as well, what a great place to learn to paddle. Now I'm in the Shenandoah Valley and much closer to the Maury (Goshen Pass) and Balcony Falls section of the James, half an hour to a hour depending on traffic. When there is water the options increase North Rive...
