Re: Your Favorite Road Trip Vehicle
A mini-van is hard to beat, although I was quite against them in my younger, more "image conscious" years. Now, with a wife and two sons and a boat and gear for every person, it's as PAC says " a shoe in". Besides, the cool factor goes up exponentially with four canoes strapped to the top! Look for ...

Re: Silver Creek Canoe paddle
What is the length? Flat or curved blade? I'm about 20 minutes from B'ham and would be interested in at least looking at it. Thanks

Re: Detonator in heavy water - what am I doing wrong?
I can definitely relate to what you're describing, and we're at about the same skill level. I feel at ease up to Class IV with maybe a IV+ thrown in on a good day, but I've had days that shook my confidence a bit. One that stands out in particular was on the Ocoee, a III+ river that I thought I was ...

Re: Teaching Canoe Rolling?
they're both very short, and are having issues leaning forwards and reaching up and out enough to roll... I'm 5' 7" and have a short torso as well. While this combination makes for a great center of gravity while sitting in a canoe, I suppose some would consider it a disadvantage in terms of levera...

Thanks! The big slide (Kinlock Falls) is actually on Hubbard Creek, part of the Sipsey Wilderness Area in Alabama. There's a shot of Powell Falls on the Locust Fork in Alabama as well as a quickie of Lesser Wesser on the Nantahala.

I haven't posted in a while. I took a new job and relocated and haven't paddled in longer than I care to admit. I did, however, come up with the time to publish my first ever video on YouTube. Somewhere along the way I lost a lot of resolution, and things are a little shakier than I'd like. Please f...

This is great! I've bee trying to save money for more boating trips, but this has convinced me to reactivate my subscription to C & K- and if I ever manage to save up the funds to go tropical, it'll definitely be with Jim's group.

NC Vacation - wanna paddle?
I'm headed to the Bryson City area for vacation next week and would like to meet up with some fellow c-boaters for a run or two. I'll have the whole family, so some of my days will be spent on the Tuck and Nanty- but I'd like to spend a day or two hitting something with a little more spice like the ...

Mega Carnage!
Check out the rafting carnage at the new whitewater park in Columbus, GA. I counted around 10 rafts wiped out at Cutbait rapid and a couple more that spilled their cargo before they made it to Cutbait. Approximately 100 people in the water in less than six minutes! http://www.westroke.com/blog/2013/...

Cool! Your located about 60 miles north of me. You've got my attention. An OC-1 would perk me up even more. Good luck! I hope you sell a million.
