Re: Pump for videoboating
Thanks guys, appreciate the help! Is there a link or guide that details how to actually go about installing the pump? I don't really have any knowledge of how they work. I'll be working for Class VI. I've run the NRG dozens of times and can generally get down most things pretty dry but am often pret...

Pump for videoboating
Hi guys, over the summer I am going to be video boating on the New River Gorge (and maybe on the Gauley). I'll be in there at all different flows and as I'm sure some of you know it can get quite big so filling up in some rapids is pretty much a given. I paddle a closed L'edge, and unless I make the...

Upper Yough
Would anyone like to show me down the Upper Yough sometime this month by any chance? I've been dying to get on that river, but don't' have any friends that know it well

Re: Crucial tip for having a good roll
Hey guys, while I use toe blocks, I'm sure many people use other systems to hold them in. My main point was that whatever someone's using, they should experiment with how tight they are in it. This seems like common sense, but I've boated for years thinking I was really tight in the boat, before fin...

Crucial tip for having a good roll
Hi everyone, this tip might be common sense to some, but I'll share it anyways. I've always had a pretty decent roll -- I would never miss a roll in a pool. But, when I flipped in a big rapid, it was generally hit or miss to whether I would roll up or swim and I could never figure out why. I paddle ...

Re: Extreme discomfort in l'edge
Wow... I never thought that would work. A pump would make NRG and Gauley runs much more enjoyable! Any recommendations on which kind to get? I've never used one

Re: Extreme discomfort in l'edge
Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm taking them all into account, and will try everything you all said. In response to one comment, I am not a beginner... I paddle IV-IV+ and this discomfort is one thing stopping me from progressing. I think one particular issue that makes my leg cramp up is that m...

Extreme discomfort in l'edge
Hi everyone, lately, I have been extremely uncomfortable paddling my l'edge. I love the boat, but I tend to get really bad leg cramps, and my legs and toes go numb. I am using the normal bulkhead + toe blocks outfitting, and I believe that the toe blocks are an issue. If I put the toe blocks back a ...

I agree with the above poster... I don't think it's about more strokes or more powerful strokes, but about more well-timed strokes. Right as you are about to drop into a hole or a big wave, take one big stroke to propel yourself into it and lean back. This will help give you leverage and power to cl...

Paddling this weekend
Does anyone want to paddle this weekend? Would really love to get on some creeks since they are finally running... Cranberry (my favorite!), Big Sandy, Williams, Little Kanawha, Lower Blackwater?? If nothing else, would be happy to go out on the LG or NRG
