That is a good point. I just measured my seat and it is 8 1/2" . I will start trimming the seat down as my first step. I will start with 7" and go from there. I can always add foam back. Thanks for you help.

Thanks for the advice. I was looking to make the thwarts longer to maybe gain some stability. I will give it a try I can always put the standard thwarts back in. So far it has been a fun boat I just need to catch up to it.
thanks again

I was reading the thread on thwart lenth tinkering and was wondering if it would work for my spark. Looking for more stability being a newbie with out getting a different boat. Any thoughts?

I am a newbie and really enjoy reading cboats. I seem to not follow the crowd with the things i get involved in. Its part of the fun for me being the hardhead. I was into fourwheeling and everyone drove jeeps so i drove an early bronco. Do i like to stand out? not really just chose a different route...

I will try moving the pegs back. I have also read on here about shin blocks.
I might give them a try. I notice my ankles after a while and when I get out its pretty
Uncomfortable . Could be just the way it is . Thanks for the tip

newbie spark outfitting question

I have a factory outfitted spark that I have had out about six times. I noticed the last time (longest trip so far 4 hrs otr) that my ankles were turning to the outside of the boat. Was thinking about speading the toe blocks out or making them longer so my feet would be farther apart. Anyone have an...

Took my spark out for first moving water trip a few days ago. Gunpowder gorge in maryland. Wow i have alot to learn. Short trip class 2-3 release water so it was cold. Anyway swam once, filled up once but stayed upright. Still had a good time. Found another local spot to practice in so I will be spe...

I got my spark from blue mountain outfitters in Harrisburg pa. Its outfitted all I have to do is glue down the knee pads. I figured that was best for me as a newbie to the smaller boats. They also had one I could paddle as a demo which I wanted to do.

I just purchased a new spark and paid $1750. I felt like I was a lot but when Ifigured its a speciality boat with a smaller market i felt it was worth it. A good mountian bike is that much to get one not made in china. Just my thoughts as someone who just looked for a used boat and decided to by new...

Picked up my new spark this weekend. Now I need to get it wet. Test paddled one and this is going to be a fun learning process. I didnt flip but alot more unstable than my 14 ft mohawk. I was wondering what in on the inside of this boat vinyl or bare abs? It is gray on the inside and thought I read ...

Thanks I am looking to challange myself so the ocoee or spark sound good. I am going to demo a spark soon as I can . Are they similar in how they perform? I read that the Ocoee is edgy but that is part of why it is a great boat. Is the spark similar? I see that you paddle a spark how is it holding u...
