We talked a while back (long while). I am heading out of town in about a week for 28 days so I have some limited time but I may be able to help with some accommodations near Roanoke if you need some help. Email me

Hey had no idea that you guys had answered this, thanks. I did talk to Kaz and he was helpful. The Swamphen would be an option but this collegiate series has a 16% rule for width instead of the standard 15% you see with most other series. Sbroam... I picking up on the fact that you make most anythin...

Living in Roanoke, VA there are multiple sections of the James to paddle (Balcony Falls being the best) that are 30 minutes and less. When the rain comes there are lot more options, all those mentioned by VAnate as well as North Creek and ones similar. The hardest thing here is that Johns Creek, whi...

I know you come through to the Maurey periodically. Any chance meeting up for a demo on one of those trips. There or Balcony Falls.

I tried the contact cement idea and it worked on a lot but not all. This is some old OLD glue. I may try again when it warms up a bit here in VA. I have MEK but was nervous about it. I will give the Toluene or Xylene a shot this weekend and see what happens. Now if I can figure out how to get some s...

Removing Old Glue

Anyone got any ideas for removing old glue. Redoing some old outfitting in a Genesis and the glue just seems to get warm and turns gooey when I sand it. I have been sanding and cleaning with Denatured alcohol. Any suggestions?

This is awesome! I really do appreciate it. Lets keep it coming. Now, where could I get one of the sliding seats to install in a boat?

Thanks and keep it coming

This is awesome and I want to thank everyone. And please keep it coming. I have already gotten my copy of Canoe Racing and it is going to be indispensable for the coming year. I have also seen the ZRE paddles... as they shot past us in the race. That is where I found the book. I am already looking f...

I am looking at the book right now online. Having trouble finding the newer edition. Does it matter? Regardless it looks perfect, all the reviews are great. Thanks. Ahhh, the flat water. Yes, this is a problem. I work at Hollins University, which is an all women's school. The tandem canoe event is c...

Downriver Racing Advice

I have a group of college students that have started some downriver racing, both OC2 and OC1. They have been using our old Blueholes to do so. These are not the fastest boats on the scene but I am stoked they are in canoes regardless. I would love to help them out and be a little more competitive an...

Downriver Racing Boats wanted

Anyone know of, have or want to get rid of some old downriver racing boats, cheap. Solo and Tandem. I work for Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. I have a group of students here that love OC and have started doing some collegiate downriver races here in the southeast. This past weekend they raced so...
