Re: Did the L'Edge kill the Detonator?
Having made the transition from a detonator to a l'edge, I can tell the Detonator is much faster, and is a REALLY great boat. I think you see less on the river because : 1. many ppl bought a l'edge (in fact, you see less different boats on the water, almost only l'edges...) 2. most ppl learn on a de...

Re: Big Day of Canoeing
Hey Dooley, could your videos be a little longer? We don't see much of any rivers you paddle, only some short shots... I guess you want to keep the footage for The Canoe Movie 2, but come on... Anyway nice descent, congratulations, you're pushing the sport forward!

Re: While paddling a canoe I prefer to keep my feet...
Just wondering... isn't having your toes under the footpegs a recipe for disaster? If your hull gets hit by a boulder, or is bent when pinning, isn't the footpegs gonna chop your toes off?
It has always been a fear of mine, so I personnally keep my toes on the footpegs.

Re: C1 Creeking & Twin-Pin Rescue.
Vid Here . Just saw this on another forum, where the poster wanted to know "What are peoples thoughts on the guy that goes straight to"GO" in the rescue????" Personally, I don't agree with the "don't put yourself in any danger" idea of dealing with rescues now so popular... How about you? I personn...

Looking for drysuit
Hi! I'm getting tired of my wetsuit/drytop setup, and I am looking for a kokatat drysuit, size medium, for men, with a relief zipper, socks and a skirt tunnel. Let me know if you have one for sale or know a good deal somewhere! Thanks!

I had the same problem before : my canoe would turn to my offside when I boofed. What I did was to paddle against an arc, as some have suggested before. Then I realized that boofing was not all about having a very strong book stroke. What you need is good forward momentum, a nice forward stroke (ver...

Hi all! I have an opportunity to buy a habitat, I'm about 140lb, how is the hull? Flat or round? Has anyone ever converted it to a C1? I'm interested to know if it's a good C1, sharp on eddys, fast, etc, etc! Thanks!

I'm from Québec, so we don't have that many big volume creeks (well according to me). I thought that the Jefe grande was a little too big. On the other hand, the mamba 7.5 seems to be kinda small. I think the 8.0 would be appropriate. Anyway I think I will wait for an 8.0 or a Jefe around 600$. Than...

I have the same cracks on my deto, one on each side of the hull. What I did was open them enough to fill the space between plastic and foam with liquid epoxy. I previously let it dry for some days. Finalle, I mixed epoxy with pure silice (don't know what's the word in english) so it would get thicke...

Need help for a C1
Hi all, I've searched the boards extensively on potential C1 creekers. However, I have many choices of used kayaks, and I want to be sure of which one to choose according to my specs and needs. So right now, I'm looking for a creek boat, I used to paddle a Detonator, which I now find too big and wet...
