Big Waterfall Running with critical thinking
This thread was started in the Facebook Group GDI by me and I moved here to help retain the contributing comments from different people. As soon as someone runs a big drop or hard drop someone wants to get in on the fun and sharing how we think about it and prepare to do it is important info to shar...

Re: GoPro Hero3
I'll go for it for no other reason than 120 frames a second vs 60, thats worth the bump from a $300 to a $400 unit and the wifi connect to your smart phone to work on image framing live....pretty sick. There is no reason you can't serve up the highest quality video on the web. There is an assumption...

Re: Tohickon Fest
aaron the release times are a bit longer than that. You can usually get later afternoon runs. some people get that third run in and get off at 5. there is a small piece of ground to pitch tents. you should do this not too late. if for some reason there was a ban on camping at the takeout you would g...

Canoes at Moosefest, NY
The greater Northeast Pa group of canoes will be meeting Saturday about 10:45 @ Fowlersville for a Bottom Moose run. All are welcome to link up for a bit or the whole day. It would be great to see some of you canadians again.

Re: Astral Brewer watershoe
well that sounds bad smurf. do you have a real wide foot that makes fitting shoes normally problematic. these shoes might be the ones I get extra big to fit my drysuit in the winter.

Re: Astral Brewer watershoe
5-10 rubber makes them 60% better than the rest. This last year with the Sperry booties sucked. I nearly killed myself slipping around boulders several times and I have balance like a cat. water tennies or these astrals are in my future for 2013. I've had that 5-10 tred on aproach shoes for climbing...

Re: Option vs Octane 91
leclercraven,
Do you have multiple canoes that you switch out and run this or that frequently?
Do you run bigger drops boofing and plugging in the 10-20ft range? Drops like baby falls etc.
Have you ever creeked in a zoom or a prelude and really enjoyed it?

Re: Option vs Octane 91
I'd suggest zero in on buying one of the new molded Options with the 2" higher deck and forget the Octane 91. Alex had a new Option with Ocatane thwarts to push it wider than stock. Alex liked the new tweak at gauley last weekend and reported marginally better stability. After having the Option out ...
