Re: Option vs. L'Edge

If you are only going to paddles Class IV/V, then the dryness of the Ledge may appeal to you. The Option is great on all Classes because of it's speed and agility. How many reviews do you need? They are both great boats. I just love the weight and speed of the Option. Get the cheaper boat that doesn...

Re: Phiend Prototype Clip at a Slalom

Definitely keep the moniker "creeker" and not "slalomer", but the boat does look good. I don't see the tipping of from side to side notorious in the Maxim. Really looking forward to trying it out and some footage on the steeps.

Thanks GMan.

Re: Aint Louie Fest - 2012 - March 10-18

This will be my first ALF and I'm not quite sure what to do. I will be driving down from Western NY Sunday night and am looking to boat Monday (probably on no sleep). Does everyone just meet at Shoney's and figure out where to paddle or are trips planned ahead of time? I'm hoping to hit some Class I...

Re: Ok, what's the fastest whitewater boat you've paddled?

OC-1 - Millbrook Reactor - a crazy fast and twitchy boat (wish it was beafier for creekin')

OC-2 - Prowler - best tandem boat around

C-1 - Super "D" - a rocket ship

Re: Anyone from Western NY/Rochester area coming to ALF?

I live in Rochester and could transport your boat, however, I can only attend ALF during the week (have to be at Homeshows in Buffalo and Syracuse on the weekends).

Not sure if that helps, but I will have room for your boat if needed.

Re: straps vs bulkhead

Wayne, I have the exact same boat as you (even the color) and it was my first bulkhead setup. Hip blocks really locked me into this outfitting and made hand rolling really easy in the Option. Adjusting the foot pegs seems to compensate for what I am wearing, even though I slide my feet under the peg...

More chicks with sticks is definitely great for the sport. As seen in the background of the second pic......I see that you have already taught them that open boaters just let it go in the river.

I agree that more women would really help. I remember going to races with lot's of chicks as a younger lad. I saw Gnarlz Girl at the Dog Days, but no paddling.....come on Tommy, get her in a boat.....and a bikini. Still luv 10 second penalties. You still paddle fast, and also really care if you hit ...

How did the boat track? Were you able to put it on edge and glide or was it constantly trying to spin?

Really psyched to try the boat and compare to the L'edge. I will be buying one of the two this Spring and would love more feedback.
