Wood trim question

I'm replacing my wood gunwales on my Prelude. They're already made and are from ash. I also have an ash board that will be enough to build two deck plates. I figured it's best to cut them into strips and join with a biscuit joiner to prevent warping. I'd like to incorporate another piece or two in t...

Saddle placement question

I'm putting a bulkhead saddle into my Prelude. The saddle is an Esquif factory model that came out of a L'Edge. I just want to make sure I position it properly. I'm assuming that if I get in the saddle and sit upright, the center of gravity will be directly below the center of my torso. Anyone got t...

Dang, wish I'd been there. It's always a great show at Pillow, but this was extra good. Nice work, bro!

Thanks!

I looked at Jamie Dors's site and that looks like the best way to go. I'll email him some photos to see what he thinks. This is good news! Much obliged.

paddle repair questions

Ok, this is probably a dumb question, but here I go. I've got a couple of Werner Bandit carbon canoe paddles that are about worn out. I'm right handed so they're especially worn on the inside. I'd say about 10-15% of the blade is worn off. They're still usable, but don't have enough bite. Is it poss...

Thanks for all the inputs, folks.

I'd love to find her an Ocoee, but they're so sought after, it's hard to get a used one. I've seen a couple of Outrages for sale so I think I steer her in that direction. Maybe she can find an Ocoee to add to her fleet later. Much obliged.

Elgotto

Elgotto, thanks for the info. My concern was more that the Outrage wouldn't perform as well as the Ocoee, but it sounds like it does pretty well. She wants to be sure she gets something that has a bit of an edge and won't hold her back as she progresses. Does the Outrage fit that description?

Looking for info about Mad River Outrage

I'm helping a friend buy a used canoe. She's a newbie, but has done well in a borrowed Ocoee on class II. She wants something challenging that she'll grow into. I saw a couple of Outrages for sale on BT. What's the general opinion on them? Is this boat comparable to an Ocoee or a Viper 12? I'd love ...

Any chance you're coming to the Southeast soon? If so, I'd be very interested.

thanks,

Hello

I'm interested in your canoe. Any chance you're headed to the Hiwassee/Ocoee area this weekend. I'll be at the Hiwassee Saturday and would buy it as long as it's in relatively good shape. I'd expect it to be beat up and scratched, that's fine. Are there any serious issues with the hull? thanks, Spence

Thanks

Thanks, Craig. The videos will help. Busterblue, that's a good question. I don't think the saddle is higher, but I'll check. I'm sure that could make a difference. I suspect it's our technique, perhaps a weak hip snap.

Rolling the L'Edge

I've tried a L'Edge a couple of times and can't roll it. I have a good roll in my Prelude and Ocoee, though. My friend Whit (who just bought the boat after paddling Ocoees for years) is having the same trouble. It has the Bob Britt saddle in it with a big square water tunnel beneath so it's not a ma...

Funny!

That's a pretty entertaining ad. Reckon he'd had a couple o'beers prior to writing it? He may have a torn rotator cuff, but his balls seem to be intact.
