Re: Galasport CHOP SHOP 4m slalom boat alteration question
If you will be using epoxy, you can use the pink EPS foam - shapes easier than minicel, won't dissolve in epoxy. Also won't weigh as much

Re: Anyone know anything about this C1?
Hard to say definitively, but I'm guessing Extrabat due to the length of the bow spike (I think) - it was shortened compared to the original Batmax and SuperBat. The bow id also fairly narrow. Could also be something in the Fanatic line

Re: need help ID-ing this New Wave C1
My first thought was Fanatic or F2 - The chine would be a dead giveaway, but can't see that From that angle, it is very hard to tell, but the bow seems narrow for a Bat (Super or Extra) They are a lot of fun - these days, I would clip the bow spike and shorten the stern a bit - especially if you get...

Re: South Eastern First Descents, Overflow, etc.
A couple good friends ran Overflow in 78 - David Benner was in a 70CM full size Hahn C1 and Lamar Hudgens was in a Prijon Sahna.

Re: Gluing Minicell to Royalex
You can also use a heat gun - CAREFULLY
I would keep the heat on low and keep your heat gun moving.
You do not want to delaminate the Royalex

Re: Under rated boats...
The Gemini C2 is definitely one of those under-rated boats - one of the first center hole C2s. The ends were pretty fragile, but if you trimmed a foot off each end, they made great river runners. I was also a big fan of the Triumph C2 (Fritz and Lecky Haller) - it was a follow-on to the Argumax with...

Re: question about abs slurry repair for royalex
I have used the ABS Slurry repair a few times - mainly on the bow of cracked roaylex boats - mix of ground ABS and MEK. The resulting ABS is more rigid than the surrounding Royalex, so while it works, it has a tendency to crack. I covered the repair with a kevlar felt/epoxy grunch pad and it seemed ...

Re: Repost, 18 foot Cedar Strip refinish questions/help
I have successfully repaired "nearly rotten" wood with a penetrating epoxy... One example is TotalBoat Penetrating Epoxy It is a very thin epoxy tat will soak into the wood. For the most affected areas, a couple of coats might be necessary, then a flood coat before you re-glass. You will want to scuf...
